NEW: An Horry County SC police officer who was seriously injured in a Thursday afternoon crash on Carolina Forest Boulevard was stopped to remove debris from the road at the time of the crash, police said.

The crash involved two other vehicles and injured at least three people. It happened at about 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of Carolina Forest Boulevard and Waterbridge Boulevard.

Police said the officer had activated their emergency lights to remove debris from the road. The officer was taken to the hospital, but an HCPD spokesperson told news outlet Friday morning that he had been released.

Current Situation: Overnight weather conditions created tactical opportunities allowing crews to create defensive positions to reduce the fire’s ability to spread.

Firefighters will continue to fight active fire sources while providing structure defense for residences in the affected areas.

Weather today continues to be hot and dry with temperatures approaching 100 degrees with relative humidity in the single digits and winds gusting up to 25 mph along ridge tops. The current state of the weather and vegetation create the potential for rapid fire growth and significant fire behavior.

"We are aware of an unsanctioned event being planned at Knott's Berry Farm," department officials noted on social media. "We have worked with park officials and our public safety partners to identify those responsible for organizing this unauthorized gathering.

Virginia schools chief who allegedly covered up a staff predator for months now wants a massive payout anyway!!

Matthew Haas ran Albemarle County Public Schools when a social emotional learning coach at Hollymead Elementary came under investigation for preying on multiple children.

The probe dragged on for months with no word to the board. The staffer only got arrested after a grand jury indictment, and Haas finally mentioned it the day before.

Parents found out through the police, not the district.

Haas resigned under heavy pressure from furious families who said their warnings were ignored.

The board is now trying to yank that resignation back so he cannot walk away with full salary and benefits through next year.

This is the same leadership that also saw a teacher arrested earlier for child p*rnography.

Two predators in one district, months of silence, and now a fight over taxpayer money for the man in charge.

School officials who shield predators instead of kids have no business running anything. Fire them all and protect the children first.
