The Holmes County first responder community is mourning the loss of Holmes Fire District #1 Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Yoder, who passed away Saturday, July 4.
According to Holmes Fire District #1, Yoder completed his scheduled shift at 6:00 a.m. before leaving the station. He returned to the station around 9:00 a.m. While he was there, ambulance personnel responded to a 911 emergency call.
When the ambulance crew returned from the emergency response, they found Firefighter/Paramedic Yoder collapsed on the ground inside the station. CPR was initiated immediately and transported to Pomerene Emergency Room. Despite all lifesaving efforts, Firefighter/Paramedic Yoder was pronounced deceased at Pomerene Hospital.

Great news! I have just been informed that one of the biggest, best, and smartest Retailers in America, Walmart, will be lowering prices, by a lot, at my Administration's request to celebrate our great Country's 250th birthday. Walmart will, in particular, be dropping the price for a pound of ground beef by almost 15%, among many other products. This is a huge deal for the many millions of Americans who, smartly, shop at Walmart, which is a truly patriotic Company who loves the U.S.A. My Administration is lowering prices that Joe Biden incompetently raised with the worst inflation crisis in history, a total disaster along with the Southern Border, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, and many other failures. Just as I promised, Oil Prices are plummeting FAST, and Gas Prices at the pump are dropping too, just like egg and Prescription Drug prices which I am bringing down by historic levels. Walmart is stepping up in a big and bold way, and other Retailers should follow the lead of these absolute Patriots. Together, we will make America stronger and greater than ever before! Praying for the two Two Pickaway County Ohio deputies who were injured in the line of duty this afternoon.🙏🏻
A multi-agency manhunt is underway for Daniel Allen Robinette, 34, who is wanted on two counts of felonious assault after using his father's identity and fleeing a traffic stop in a red 2012 Chevy Cruze on July 6, 2026. During the escape in a Walmart parking lot, Robinette struck Deputy Little with the vehicle and dragged Sergeant McIntyre roughly 30 feet, causing a severe head injury before abandoning the deputy’s lost phone and fleeing to pick up his 12-year-old daughter from his parents' home.
Despite suffering a severe, heavily bleeding head wound, Sgt. McIntyre managed to scramble back to his cruiser to attempt a pursuit, but Robinette had already vanished into the night.
Sgt. McIntyre was transported to the Berger Hospital Emergency Room, where he was treated for a severe laceration and contusion to the back of his head. Dep. Little sustained a significant contusion to his left forearm from being struck by the vehicle but did not require immediate emergency hospitalization.
