Praying for the NYPD Detective who was shot in the line of duty overnight.πŸ™πŸ»

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: A veteran NYPD detective β€” just 10 days from retirement β€” was shot in the back in a wild gunfight after he and a fellow officer jumped out of their car to confront an armed teen.

β€œEarly this morning, an armed man walked up to a police vehicle and shot an NYPD Detective, leaving our brother wounded in the line of duty. In just three weeks, two NYPD Detectives have been shot and injured doing the job this city asks of them every single day. Nine years ago today, we stood in a hospital mourning Detective Miosotis Familia, who was assassinated simply for wearing the uniform. The dangers facing police have not gone away.

Yet there is no amount of danger that will stop NYPD Detectives or their fellow cops from running toward the threat to protect New Yorkers. The question is whether some elected officials will finally have the courage to stand with them, stop vilifying the police, and hold violent offenders fully accountable.

We thank God our brother is expected to recover, but our members should never have to wonder whether the people they risk their lives for will stand behind them. The DEA will never stop fighting for every Detective, every family, and every protection our members have earned.” - DEA President Scott Munro

Texas: Last night, a family was celebrating in the backyard of a residence in the 1500 block of Park Drive when a 9-year-old child was struck by a bullet. Investigators believe the round came from celebratory gunfire in the area.

The source of the gunfire remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. The child was transported to a hospital after being struck in the arm and is reported to be in fair condition.

We urge the public to help identify anyone responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or @CrimeStoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).

The Crowd at 7:05 in the evening was 422,000 people! All were forced to leave because of the weather, the event was cancelled, and everyone was gone because of lightning. When I heard that it was cancelled, I immediately overturned that decision, and waited a while for people to come back. Incredibly, at least 150,000 people returned, and it was an even more spectacular evening than it would have been as normalized! It showed work under pressure. Congratulations to the Secret Service and Law Enforcement on being able to get so many people back into the Arena in such rapid fashion! It was an amazing evening made even more spectacular by the fact that, immediately after the Great Fireworks ended, the rains came down, full blast! President DONALD J. TRUMP

🚨Pass the Protect and Serve Act: https://buff.ly/R3ymdhQ

Shocking video has emerged from a chaotic β€œteen takeover” in North Charleston, South Carolina, showing a White female police officer being severely beaten by a mob of Black teens. The officer was swarmed, repeatedly struck, and hit with what appears to be a Roman Candle firework during the attack.

This is not isolated β€œyouthful mischief.” β€œTeen takeovers” β€” large groups of mostly Black teens coordinating via social media to overwhelm areas, fight, damage property, and attack police β€” have been rising sharply in cities across America. These incidents often feature extreme violence with little fear of consequences.

It is why getting the Protect and Serve Act (S. 167 / H.R. 1551) passed into law this session is an absolute must.

Heroes on four legs. πŸ•πŸŽ–οΈ

From the rubble of La Guaira to recognition β€” the search and rescue dogs of the LACoFD Urban Search & Rescue Task Force (USA-2) were honored for their tireless work following Venezuela’s devastating earthquakes.

These dogs worked alongside their handlers through collapsed structures and dangerous debris, searching for survivors when hope was running thin.

Recognition like this reminds us that disaster response is a global effort β€” and sometimes the bravest first responders wear a harness instead of a badge.

πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ International solidarity, one search at a time.
