It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of retired Anaheim Police Chief John Welter, who passed away peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 77 following health complications.

Chief Welter served as the 32nd Chief of Police for the Anaheim Police Department from 2004 to 2013. During his tenure, he led with vision and a deep commitment to the department and the City of Anaheim.

A lifelong motorcycle officer at heart, he became the first Anaheim Police Chief to regularly patrol on a police motorcycle, demonstrating that leadership meant serving alongside those he led.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

NEW: A Houston police officer was injured in a crash with another vehicle in northwest Houston overnight, and he's expected to recover, according to the Houston Police Department.

The officer was driving westbound on Clay Road, and a civilian was vehicle heading north on Gessner Road when the two collided in the intersection, Sgt. Barrow told OnScene TV. Police were investigating which driver had a green light and which had a red light, but early reporting indicated the civilian blew through a red light at a high rate of speed, he said.
The officer appears to have had the green light, Barrow added. He did not say when the crash occurred.

He said police detained and were evaluating the civilian for a possible DWI. Police have neither identified the driver nor announced any charges in the case.
Barrow said the officer, who was on a normal patrol at the time of the crash, was recovering. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recoveryπŸ™πŸ»

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share the news of Retired Captain Henry Elkin's passing. Captain Elkin was part of Harris County Precinct 3 family for more than a decade, making lifelong friendships along the way. Henry's passion for law enforcement was more than a duty, it was a calling. He shared his knowledge with the younger generation of deputies he supervised, many who credit him with guiding them to supervisory roles. We will miss our brother, his infectious smile, and fantastic fishing stories.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

Chief Hebbe shares a message following the heartbreaking loss of Farmington Police Department NM Evidence Technician Stacy Peters and her sister.

Farmington police closed its records counter Tuesday and Wednesday after Evidence Technician Stacy Peters was killed in a head-on crash near Window Rock, Arizona. She was on a family camping trip with her sister when a drunk driver hit them. A heartbreaking loss, and a sudden pause in a service people rely on for reports, records, and claims.

It’s not always the typical tools of the trade we need to make a block safe. Being present, engaging in outreach and even a little sweeping of trash and graffiti removal can make all the difference.
