NEW: An NYPD sergeant, three other officers and a suspect were both hospitalized after a chaotic incident in the Bronx on Fatherβs Day, according to police.
The FDNY said it received a call for a reported shooting outside 380 East Fordham Rd. between Marion and Decatur Avenues at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Assistant Chief and Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Bronx North, Aneudy Castillo, said the sergeant and other community response officers had pulled the suspect over to investigate a possibly stolen vehicle in Fordham after βcovertlyβ following the vehicle for over a mile.
Six cars surrounded the car on Fordham Road to prevent the driver from leaving the scene, Castillo said. According to officials, the suspect hit the sergeant and three officers with their vehicle after putting the car into drive and reverse several times.
Another officer who had jumped on top of a parked vehicle to avoid being hit then shot the suspect in the arm, according to police.
Castillo said the teen was arrested earlier this year in relation to a shooting incident in the Bronx.
The Force Investigations Division is investigating the incident. Castillo said the teen has been arrested and will be charged.
Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for the officers recoveryππ»

Another devastating crash serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of street racing on our community's roads.
Nevada: At approximately 11:50 p.m., Reno Police, Reno Fire, and REMSA responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of South McCarran Boulevard and South Rock Boulevard. The preliminary investigation indicates that the drivers of an Audi RS5 and a Porsche 911 GTS were engaged in a high-speed street race while traveling southbound on McCarran. Both vehicles allegedly ran a red light at McCarran and Rock, colliding with a Toyota pickup that was lawfully in the intersection.
The impact caused catastrophic damage to all three vehicles. Six occupants of the Toyota pickup were transported to the hospital, along with the juvenile driver of the Porsche and the adult driver and passenger of the Audi. Multiple individuals were admitted for treatment, and an 84-year-old occupant of the victim vehicle remains in critical condition.
The Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is actively investigating the crash.
Street racing is not a victimless crime. Reckless decisions behind the wheel can change lives in an instant. Reno Police remain committed to identifying and holding accountable those who endanger our community through illegal racing and dangerous driving behavior.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact the Reno Police Department non-emergency line at 775-334-2677. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Secret Witness at 775-322-4900, online at secretwitness.com, or by texting 847411 and using the keyword SW.
