NEW: The man accused of killing an Oklahoma County Deputy in an ambush shooting faces new federal charges.

U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester announced the new charges filed against Benjamin Plank on Wednesday.

Investigators said three Oklahoma County deputies were serving Plank an eviction notice on August 22, 2022, when Plank shot at the deputies.

Sgt. Bobby Swartz died at the scene. One other deputy was injured in the shooting.

NEW: A 30-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly setting a vehicle on fire while two of her friends were sleeping inside at a truck stop in Hesperia, California.

Praying for Texas DPS Trooper Kurt Kelm who was seriously injured in the line of duty🙏🏻

Trooper Kurt Kelm was conducting a commercial vehicle inspection on IH 45 in Leon County.  While inspecting the trailer, he fell through a rotten board on the deck of the trailer.

This caused Trooper Kelm to fall, striking his face on the edge of the semi-trailer. He suffered a severe injury, including numerous broken bones in his face.  He is currently in the ICU and will have a long road to recovery as several surgeries are expected.

The DPS Troopers Foundation has started a Help a Hero campaign to assist Trooper Kelm and his wife and children while he is in the hospital. His wife is pregnant with their third child. Today, we grieve the loss of LASD - Transit Services Bureau K9 Lasi. Lasi was a Belgian Shepherd born in Europe on October 11, 2017. She was imported by the Department of Defense/TSA and began her career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - TSB in October of 2019. Lasi was trained in explosives and firearm detection, and has a lengthy service record of traveling around the country and around the world to support safety and security; she was present in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and four Super Bowls to include San Franscisco, Tampa, Miami, and Las Vegas. While off duty, she loved playing fetch and taking long walks with her handler, Deputy Whiteside. We are grateful for her seven years of dedicated service. She was a very good girl, and she will be deeply missed.🙏🏻🐾

A Miami Beach Florida Policewoman is said to be in critical condition after crashing an ATV while responding to what sources said was a burglary in progress. The officer was rushed to Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center.
