Growing up in a sports family, I learned how competition builds character.
Sports teaches discipline, accountability, resilience and the rewards of hard work - values which have always been the heart of the American spirit.
Whether itβs under Friday night lights, on the court or in the octagon, competition reminds us of the qualities that keep America strong, like determination and perseverance, and the belief that anything is possible with hard work.
Welcome to the biggest stage on earth, UFC. Job incredibly well done.

Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating the retirement of Chief Daniel Acosta after more than 30 years in law enforcement and 27 years of dedicated service to the Sebastian Florida Police Department.
Surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, we gathered to share stories, enjoy BBQ and cake, present Chief Acosta with a commemorative plaque, and recognize the incredible impact he has made on our department and our city.
Chief Acosta's career began in 1995 and has been marked by service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to others. Since joining the Sebastian Police Department in 1999, he has served in nearly every facet of the organization. His leadership, integrity, and compassion have left a lasting mark on our agency and the community we proudly serve.
One of the most memorable moments of the day came as Chief Acosta gave his final radio transmission and went 10-7 for the last time. He then completed his de-pinning ceremony, with the honor of removing his badge entrusted to his wife, a fitting tribute to the support and sacrifice shared throughout his distinguished career.
While Chief Acosta is retiring from law enforcement, we are grateful that his service to Sebastian will continue as he transitions into his new role as the City's Director of Human Resources and Risk Management. Well done Brother! π
