Newly released dashcam video shows a Pasadena police officer getting shot by a fellow officer in what the police chief described as a “horseplay” incident.

A Pasadena police officer was shot by another officer after both allegedly pointed loaded firearms at each other inside a department parking structure. Police Chief Gene Harris called it “unsafe, out-of-policy horseplay involving loaded firearms.” The wounded officer was struck in the shoulder and later recovered.

Horse play is spraying someone with a water hose.This is a catastrophic failure in judgment that could have easily turned deadly.

A Canadian national has been sentenced to 33 years in federal prison after prosecutors said he targeted more than 145 children in a horrific sextortion scheme.

Some of the victims were as young as six years old.

It is with a heavy heart that we regretfully announce the untimely passing of Detention Deputy Jonathan Morales Pabon. Jonathan passed away last night as a result of an off-duty motor vehicle accident on I-4 in Haines City. He was 32 years old.

Jonathan was a dedicated member of our agency. He was assigned to the South County Jail Alpha platoon and has been employed with our agency since 2021. Prior to his PCSO career, he was a corrections officer for the Florida Department of Corrections. He was originally from New York City.

Jonathan did not know a stranger. He was outgoing and made friends everywhere he went.

Please keep Jonathan’s family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Praying for the West Columbia police officer who was shot in the line of duty last night.🙏🏽

West Columbia Police SC say a police officer is injured following an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the 500 block of North Brown Street at about 9:30 p.m.
Police say during the incident, an officer and the suspect suffered gunshot wounds.
They were taken to the hospital where officers say they are in stable condition at this time.

NEW: ICE Los Angeles has arrested Armando Alberto Avitia-Torres from Mexico. Avitia has alleged gang ties and spent time in jail for burglary, larceny, and possession of heroin with intent to sell. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal.

Joseph Apodaca is being remembered for his dedication to public service after losing his life in the line of duty on NM-518 near Taos, New Mexico. His passing has deeply affected fellow deputies, first responders, and the community he faithfully served.

On the night of the incident, members of the Taos County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico, were searching for a suspected reckless driver. As Sergeant Apodaca turned into a driveway connected to the search area, his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a sheriff’s office pickup truck. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene.

Apodaca served with the Taos County Sheriff’s Office for eight years and had previously worked with the county jail. In addition to his law enforcement duties, he was a member of the Swift Water Rescue Team, contributing his skills to emergency response efforts throughout the region.

Colleagues and community members remember him for his commitment to service and willingness to help others. His legacy continues through the people he served, the fellow deputies he worked alongside, and the impact he made during his years of public service.

The feds just today suspended LAHSA’s funding, accusing it of fraud and gross mismanagement. LAHSA disperses roughly $1 billion a year in homelessness money through LA directly to all these ‘nonprofits’. There’s zero accountability and zero tracking of anything. LAHSA doesn’t even report audits. this is a deeply layer criminal organization that’s profiting off homeless people who can’t speak out or defend themselves or even have enough self awareness to know what’s happening. Shame on Karen Bass she’s the number 1 enabler of this crime syndicate. She’s acting like she wants to house people for compassion when really she just wants to keep the exploitation system in tact as long as possible.

Btw the former head of LAHSA (the entity that disperses funds to the nonprofits that make homeless people want to jump off buildings) is Va Lecia Adams Kellum, handpicked by Karen Bass. She resigned last year after it came out that she helped direct $2.1 million in federal funds to her husband’s employer (Google it). Before LAHSA, she ran St. Joseph Center in Venice. That’s the same drop-in center with thousands of voters registered to its address despite having zero beds. The same center Nithya Raman awarded a $600,000 check to as Housing Committee chair 🤔 . The photo of Nithya Ramen presenting that oversized lottery check with a big disgusting smile on her face disappeared from the website this week once reporters started asking questions.
