What was the end result of Democratsβ DHS shutdown?
Zero ICE reforms, and ICE and CBP are now funded with an additional $70 billion through the rest of Trumpβs presidency.
After negotiations fell apart in the Senate, Republicans simply went around Dems and funded Trumpβs immigration enforcement agenda on their own, & Dems were powerless to stop it.
And this is *on top* of the money ICE & CBP already got in the One Big Beautiful Bill last year.
ICE & CBP now have more money coming to their coffers than they ever would have if there had been no DHS shutdown.

NEW: The Saline County NE Sheriff's Office says one man is in custody after he resisted arrest for a few hours Tuesday morning and ultimately injured a police officer by pinning him between vehicles.
According to a Tuesday afternoon press release, Saline County police were called to the Crete Walmart at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a "suspicious vehicle that had been driving around the parking lot for several hours."
Both Crete and Saline County police responded to the scene, where they found a man, later identified as 24-year-old Enrique Jesus Morales of Oklahoma City, driving an F-250 truck "through the parking lot in an erratic manner." With Morales not responding to law enforcement requests to stop, police eventually deployed spikes to puncture his tires.
Police say Morales drove through those hindrances, and pinned a police deputy between his F-250 and a patrol car. The officer, who has not yet been named, fired his gun during this exchange but did not hit anyone.
Morales was eventually blocked off in the back loading area of the Walmart and taken into custody at the Saline County jail.
The release says the Deputy was transported to Bryan West for treatment, and the Nebraska State Patrol was called to assist with the investigation.
Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for the deputy's recoveryππ½
