Thereβs Real Hope for California: SCOTUS could potentially END βElection Monthβ Once and For All!
Right now, the U.S. Supreme Court is preparing to rule in a major case called Watson v. Republican National Committee.
What the case is about:
Federal law has long set a clear Election Day for president, Senate, and House racesβthe first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. But some states, including Mississippi (and California), allow mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day to still be counted if they arrive several days later.
Mississippi gives a five-business-day βgrace period.β
Challengers argue this violates federal law that says ballots must actually be received by Election Day.
What it implies for California and the country:
The Supreme Court heard arguments in March, and most justices appeared READY TO SIDE WITH THE CHALLENGERS. If they rule that way (expected this month), it would strike down those post-Election Day counting windows in roughly 15 states plus D.C.βincluding Californiaβs rulesβfor all federal elections.
That means no more βballots keep trickling inβ for days or weeks after polls close.
How impactful could this be?
Absolutely Huge. It means Faster, clearer results on Election Night instead of weeks later.

This week, we honored some of our ICE law enforcement officers who, amid sniper shots at the Dallas ICE facility shooting on September 24, 2025, rushed into action to save illegal aliensβ lives.
Our officers are the best of the best, and they risk their lives to protect our nation. Every day, the brave men and women of ICE make our communities safer by arresting terrorists, murderers, gang members, rapists, pedophiles, and drug traffickers.
The Democrats must turn down the temperature and stop comparing our officers to Nazis, the secret police, and slave patrols. This repeated demonization has led to a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against our officers.
Secretary Markwayne Mullin

βYou want to shut down the facility? Then every illegal alien we arrest in that state, weβll fly to Texas. Weβll fly to Arizona, detain them there, because weβre going to keep arresting people. Weβre going to keep detaining people. Weβre going to keep removing people.β

It is with great sadness that we honor the life and legacy of Corrections USA member Officer Michael Maness. Corrections USA sends our condolences to Officer Maness's family, friends, and fellow officers.
The following tribute was shared by Michael's wife, Sandie.
Officer Michael Maness proudly served at Menβs Colony and Sierra Conservation Center for thirteen years. Maness entered corrections after working as an special education educator for fourteen years. Michael was married to his wife, Sandie, for 44 years. Together they had four children and twelve grandchildren. Officer Maness was still riding his skateboard, working out, playing hoops, traveling across the Inited States and serving in his Church. Michaelβs life motto was: βWe are all one right decision from making a better life, so all accolades received should be used as an opportunity to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.β Michael will forever remembered for being a man whose love never left us; his love will play on through each of us who bare the signature of his touch upon our lives!
Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood. ππ»
