NEW: Two officers injured when teen drives through police checkpoint, NC troopers say.
A holiday weekend police checkpoint turned chaotic when a 17-year-old driver failed to stop and collided with two officers, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
It happened just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Conover, and both officers were taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, investigators say. Conover is in Catawba County, about a 45-mile drive northwest from uptown Charlotte.
βConover Police Department was conducting a license checking station on County Home Road. ... A Ford Fusion was traveling north on County Home Road, failed to stop, and struck two officers in the roadway,β highway patrol officials said in a May 25 news release.
βThe driver of the Ford Fusion, a 17-year-old Juvenile female from Conover, was not injured. At the time of the collision, emergency lights were activated on a patrol car while officers conducted the checking station.β
A cause for the collision remains under investigation. βCharges are pending,β officials said.
Identities of the officers and driver have not been released.

According to DeKalb County Police, the crash happened on Glenwood Road near I-285. The officer was being treated for minor injuries. He are expected to be okay, according to the police department.

NEW: A Milwaukee County Sheriffβs deputy is injured after being involved in a crash.
A spokesperson says the deputy was pursuing a stolen vehicle yesterday and had arrested three people, and released them all but the driver.
The deputy was taking the driver to the Milwaukee Criminal Justice Facility when the suspect reportedly started to overdose.
The cruiser crashed at an intersection while the deputy was rushing him to a hospital.
All were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the overdosed driver was given Narcan.

NEW: Three Massachusetts residents were arrested Friday night after Lewiston Police say a stolen dump truck rammed a cruiser, crashed into a school playground fence, and left one officer injured.
On Friday, May 22, just before 8 p.m., Lewiston Police received a FLOCK alert indicating that a stolen vehicle out of Marlborough, Massachusetts, was operating in the downtown area. The vehicle was identified as a Ford dual-wheeled dump truck.
Officers located the vehicle near Bartlett Street and Walnut Street. When police attempted to stop it, the truck pulled into the rear parking lot of 84 Walnut Street. Police said the vehicle then intentionally rammed a cruiser, totaling it.
The chase continued down Howe Street and behind Longley School, where the dump truck crashed into a playground fence. Patrol officers apprehended the occupants as they attempted to flee from the disabled vehicle.
One officer pursuing the suspects after the crash suffered a large laceration to the back of his head after coming into contact with the mangled fence. He was transported to St. Maryβs Regional Medical Center by a fellow officer, where he received seven staples to close the wound.
