President Donald J. Trump "We had a great stay. It was an amazing period of time. President Xiβs an incredible guy. We got along, made a lot of great trade deals, including over 200 planes from Boeing, with a promise of 750 planes, which will be, by far, the largest order ever..."
POTUS on Iran's latest proposal: "I looked at it, and if I don't like the first sentence, I just throw it away... if they have any nuclear of any form, I don't read the rest of their letter."
POTUS says he discussed Taiwan and Iran with President Xi: "He does not want to see a fight for independence... I didnβt make a comment on it... on Iran, itβs very interesting. He feels strongly they canβt have a nuclear weapon... and he wants them to open up the strait."
POTUS: President Xi "said the U.S. was declining for the last four years, and he said what President Trump has done in the last 15, 16 months has been virtually a miracle. He said we have the hottest country anywhere in the world."
POTUS tells reporters he discussed Pastor Ezra Jin and Jimmy Lai with President Xi:
"I think he's giving very serious consideration to the pastor... he said Jimmy Lai is a tough one for him to do."
POTUS on AI discussions with China: "We're leading by a lot, but they're second, and they're very strong β and we talked about possibly working together for guardrails."
"Did you get a deal on soybeans?"
POTUS: "I did. The farmers are going to be very happy. They're going to be buying billions of dollars of soybeans."
POTUS: I went over to where President Xi lives, which is something that rarely happens. People have never seen it before, it's amazing actually. It's a very positive thing to have these two nations getting along.
Q: "Did you talk about fentanyl at all?"
POTUS: "I did... As you know, I put a tariff on because of fentanyl... the fentanyl is way down from where it was, and it could be because of the tariff penalty."

NEW: A Rochester police officer was injured early Friday after a driver struck the officer, a disabled patrol car and two other parked vehicles on Dewey Avenue, police said.
The crash happened just after 12:35 a.m. near Glenwood Avenue, according to Lt. Anthony DelVecchio of the Rochester Police Department.

Please, praying for McIntosh County Sheriff Steve Delzer who was shot in the line of duty yesterday.ππ»
North Dakota: Attempted murder charges have been filed against a Seattle man whoβs accused of shooting McIntosh County Sheriff Steve Delzer in the hand and a deputy was struck in the head with a tire jack, according to court documents filed Friday in LaMoure County.
The incident began when Elkin D. Fontecha Gomez, 26, called 911 at approximately 7:48 a.m. on May 14, 2026, making irrational statements and saying people were βhunting himβ and someone wanted to βkill him.β He also expressed concern that police would shoot him. Fontecha Gomez, who spoke mainly Spanish and little English, told dispatch he had no weapons.
Sheriff Delzer and Deputy Jorge Oliver responded and found Fontecha Gomez near his broken-down 2006 black Toyota Scion with Washington license plates on a gravel road near Kulm. The officers helped get the vehicle running and began driving it toward Kulm, with Deputy Oliver driving the Scion and Fontecha Gomez in the passenger seat, while Sheriff Delzer led in his marked patrol unit.
The Scion broke down a second time on County Road 33. As Deputy Oliver and Fontecha Gomez looked under the hood, Fontecha Gomez grabbed a black iron tire jack and struck Deputy Oliver in the head. He then pulled Deputy Oliverβs firearm from his holster and fired an unknown number of rounds toward both Deputy Oliver and Sheriff Delzer.
Sheriff Delzer returned fire with his service weapon. Deputy Oliver retreated to Sheriff Delzerβs patrol unit, retrieved a 9mm carbine duty rifle, and also returned fire. Fontecha Gomez then fled on foot, eastbound down the gravel road and into an adjacent field, still armed with Deputy Oliverβs firearm.
Law enforcement established a perimeter and deployed a drone to search the area. Fontecha Gomez was located near a slough, still carrying the firearm. He eventually tossed the weapon to the ground and surrendered to officers. He was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for assessment before being transported to the Stutsman County Correctional Center.
Investigators found 32 shell casings at the scene.
Sheriff Delzer suffered a fragment wound to his left hand during the exchange of gunfire. Both he and Deputy Oliver were taken to regional clinics for medical care.

BREAKING: Operation Free MacArthur Park Federal agents have taken control of MacArthur Park to execute federal arrest and search warrants targeting the notorious open-air drug market there. We are going after street dealers and suppliers of massive amountsβ¦
MacArthur Park Update:
We promised the public a continued law enforcement presence at the park, and today we provide a critical update on an outstanding arrest by LAPD.
On the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026, Rampart Narcotics Detectives conducted an operation along the 600 block of Alvarado across from MacArthur Park. Officers observed activity consistent with narcotics sales, which led to the detention of five individuals who were also employees of the businesses. During the investigation, fentanyl, prescription medication, and a large amount of U.S. currency were seized.
Five suspects were arrested on state charges, while my office determines whether to bring federal charges with DEA Los Angeles against these suspects.
We will continue working with our law enforcement partners at LAPD and the DEA to combat narcotics sales and keep our communities safe in and around MacArthur Park.
