WATCH: Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons honors fallen law enforcement officers and agents:
"Police week is sacred, not because of ceremony, but because behind every name we honor was a human being, a son, a daughter, a husband, a wife, a mother, a father, a partner, and a friend. Someone who kissed their family goodbye one last time without knowing it would be the last time."
"These are generations of law enforcement professionals who stood watch over this nation, accepted the risks most Americans will never fully understand."

NEW: An officer with the Eugene Police Department in Oregon resigned effective immediately after body camera footage of his "racist and deeply offensive language" began circulating on social media.
Here's the audio. Literally said nothing wrong.
The officer said he supported ICE, praised BORTAC agents after they annihilated rioters outside the federal building, and asserted in response to the Minneapolis ICE raids:
โFuck the Somali and Latino communities. I am about the American communities! So, while youโre trying to divide us furtherโฆโ

During National Police Week, we honor the men and women who serve our communities with courage and commitment.
From patrol to specialized teams, this is a reminder that we are here for our community every day. Led by a Sheriff who stands beside those who serve and the people we protect, we remain committed to being there when it matters most.
We remember the fallen, support those who continue to serve, and remain dedicated to being there when our community needs us most. ๐
