The Marion County Sheriff's Office SC is asking for prayers after a deputy with the department was seriously injured in a crash on Thursday.🙏🏻

Officials said Deputy Jackie Yates was off-duty when he was involved in a motorcycle accident.
They said Yates is a well-known and beloved member of the community and at the department.

"Please keep Jackie, his loved ones, fellow deputies, and everyone caring for him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," a Facebook post from MCSO said.

An IMPD officer has been shot and injured following a police shooting on the north side of Indianapolis on Friday night.
According to a post on IMPD’s X account, an officer was shot and has been transported to an area hospital. The shooting occurred in the 6300 block of North Washington Boulevard.
The officer is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators said officers initially responded to a residence on a report of someone was dead at the home and a firearm was potentially involved.
In a later briefing, IMPD reported that no one was shot or killed, but a disturbance had occurred involving an intoxicated male.

As officers began speaking to the male, he started to walk away, telling officers to “shoot him in the back.” Officers attempted to stop the male when he pulled out a firearm and fired shots in the direction of officers. An IMPD officer was hit by the gun fire, while another officer returned fire, striking the suspect, police said.
The injured officer was transported to an area hospital in stable condition by another IMPD officer. The suspect was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.

When officers tried contacting him, our “Snake Señor” slithered away on foot and left the reptiles behind. Nice try, compadre.

The snakes were safely rescued by officers and delivered to Los Angeles Animal Control. Looks like the only thing getting squeezed today was his escape plan.
