JUST IN: The DC Police Union has just confirmed that termination papers have been served to numerous high-ranking ‘top brass’ command staff officials within the Metropolitan Police Department, standing firmly by the decision.

Mississippi: An officer with the Pearl Police Department is recovering from injuries he sustained while responding to a call for service.

Police Chief Nick
McLendon said the officer was “seriously injured” in a crash on Highway 80 near Bierdeman Road on Monday night. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

McLendon added that the unidentified officer suffered multiple injuries, though he did not specify the nature of them. The officer was released from the hospital later Monday night in stable condition.

“He’s banged up but doing okay. We are incredibly thankful for all the continued prayers and support. The Good Lord was definitely watching over him,” McLendon said.

SecRubio on Project Freedom: The goal of it is to rescue almost 23,000 civilians from 87 different countries that are trapped inside the Gulf, and left for dead in the Persian Gulf by the Iranian regime. For more than two months now, these innocent sailors have been stranded.

"This is not an offensive operation. This is a defensive operation, and what that means is very simple: there’s no shooting unless we're shot at first. We’re not attacking them, but if they're attacking us or they’re attacking a ship, you need to respond to that."

"There is NO 'international law' that allows you to say, 'I'm going to put mines in an international body of water and I'm going to blow up ships that don't listen to us...' That's what Iran is doing."

SecRubio on Iran: "They really shouldn’t test the will of the United States, at least not under President Donald Trump. He has proven, time and again, that he will back up what he says — and if they test him, ultimately, they will lose."

Operation Economic Fury "continues to impose maximum pressure on the Iranian regime and what remains of their already frail economy," says SecRubio.

"Every day the conflict continues... our leverage on Iran will continue to increase, and their position will continue to weaken."

SecRubio lays out the FACTS on the Iranian regime's nuclear ambitions: "They have always said they don't want a nuclear weapon. Let's be clear. They've always said that — they just don't mean it."

SecRubio: "This is what Iran is saying: we will shut down the Straits... No country in the world can go through, unless we allow you to go through, and you have to pay us, but our ships can go through... That’s crazy. Who would agree to that?"

SecRubio: "I cannot understand why anyone would think it's a good idea for Iran to ever have a nuclear weapon. Look what they're doing with the Straits right now. They're holding the whole world hostage. They have these sailors on commercial ships that are going to starve to death out there — they don't care... what do you think they would do if they had a nuclear weapon?"

SecRubio: "The problem with Israel and Lebanon is not Israel or Lebanon — it's Hezbollah. Hezbollah operates from inside of Lebanese territory; they terrorize and attack Israelis, but they also are inflicting tremendous damage on the Lebanese people."

SecRubio on the Iranian people: "[POTUS] is heartbroken by these images... This is a vicious regime, guys. These are people that hang people from cranes in the town square so everyone can see."

SecRubio: "If Iran had a nuclear weapon, and they decided to close the Straits... we wouldn't be able to do anything about it... A nuclear-armed Iran could do whatever the hell they want with the Straits, and there's nothing anyone would be able to do about it."

SecRubio: "If we live in a world where a rogue state like this Iranian regime is allowed to claim, as a new normal, control over an international shipping lane, it will not be long before you see that happen in multiple shipping lanes around the world."

SecRubio on the Iranian people: "I don't know of any country in the world where there's a bigger difference between the people and the people who run the country."

SecRubio: "Our history's not one of perfection, but it's still better than anybody else's history — and ours is a story of perpetual improvement. Each generation has left the next generation of Americans freer, more prosperous, safer, and that is our goal as well." 🇺🇸

SecRubio on Iran: "They don't care that their people are suffering. There's a difference between, 'We can withstand pressure,' and 'We actually don't care.' Now, I think there are people in their system that care more than others."

SecRubio: "Operation Epic Fury is concluded. We achieved the objectives of that operation. We're not cheering for an additional situation to occur. We would prefer the path of peace. What POTUS would prefer is a deal... that is, so far, not the route that Iran has chosen."

BREAKING: Former FedEx driver Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the death of 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been sentenced to death.

A Tarrant County jury sentenced Tanner Horner to death for the 2022 kidnapping and murder of 7-year-old Athena Strand. Horner pleaded guilty before trial and was found eligible for the death penalty after an emotional sentencing phase. Prosecutors argued for execution, while the defense pushed for life in prison. The jury returned a death verdict after two hours of deliberation. Horner allegedly struck Strand with his delivery truck, panicked, and killed her to avoid consequences. Her body was found two days later, 9 miles from her home.

It is with deep sadness that the Arlington County Police Department announces the passing of Auxiliary Lieutenant Heather Hurlock.

Lt. Hurlock began her service with our agency 30 years ago after retiring from a career as the U.S. House of Representatives Chief Clerk.  Heather served as a leader within our Auxiliary Program which included recruiting, training, engaging and supporting our auxiliary officers. In addition to her leadership in our Auxiliary Program, Heather also served in many roles within our department and this County focused on crime prevention and safety measures. Lt. Hurlock developed and administered the Bike Registration program, coordinated the Car Safety Seat Installation program which benefited many throughout the Arlington Community, and served as our primary Community Policing Through Environmental Design survey member for many years and took on the task of reviewing countless site plan submissions to ensure the police department’s needs were addressed.
