In Memory of Sergeant Larrell Kent Smith
EOW: April 16, 1983
On Thursday April 14, 1983, at approximately 6 a.m., Sheriffβs narcotics officers and members of the departmentβs Special Weapons Bureau (SEB) served a search warrant at an address in Baldwin Park.
When they were denied entry by the 52-year-old homeowner, one deputy crept forward and attached a 100-foot rope to the iron covering on one of the large windows and then a four-wheel-drive vehicle yanked off the protective iron shroud. An SEB team quickly moved up and smashed the window and entered the house. The first three members of the team met no resistance, but when Sergeant Smith entered, the suspect came out of a side room and opened fire with an automatic pistol striking him in the upper body. The other three deputies shot and killed the gunman then gathered up their fallen sergeant and hastily retreated.
Sergeant Smith was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina. He was taken off life support equipment the morning of April 16 and died a short time later. Sergeant Smith had served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 17 years. He was survived by his wife Sylvia, two daughters, one son, brother, and parents.

$7,000,000.00.
That's how much two Haitian nationals stole in a SNAP fraud scheme in Massachusetts.
Their fake retail stores raked in $480,000 a month.
Haitian migrants should be DEPORTED, not protected!

Rural and smaller communities vs. the 'Seattle Machine'.
Eastern and rural counties already feel ignored. So do smaller cities and communities. This feeds the narrative that one partyβs urban insiders are stripping power from locally elected leaders who actually answer to their voters.
Sheriffs and deputies lining up against it shows how that urban elite behavior erodes trust in law enforcement.
Saying it βholds cops accountableβ backfires when it weakens public safety for politics.
