NEW: A Windham Maine police officer and K-9 are injured after a crash with their cruiser early Saturday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of Routes 302 and 35.

The police chief tells CBS13 both the officer inside the cruiser and their K9 were injured after a crash with a SUV.

Both the police officer and his K-9 unit have reportedly been released from the hospital and are recovering at home.

BREAKING: Since around midnight PDT today (April 12, 2026) there's been quite an active swarm of earthquakes at the Juan de Fuca Ridge, about 250mi offshore WA. With 18 detected so far, up to M4.2, the USGS locations show that these are NOT anywhere near the Cascadia Subduction Zone, according to PNSN.

They are also not at the Axial Seamount Volcano, which has been predicted by others to be nearing an undersea eruption, though they are farther north along the same ridge. Finally, this swarm does NOT pose a hazard to the PNW onshore region.

UPDATE: A violent shooting unfolded inside a Chick-fil-A in Union Township, New Jersey, when multiple masked suspects forced their way into the restaurant and opened fire, sending workers and customers scrambling for safety.

The deadly shooting happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday at a Chick-fil-A on Route 22 in Union.

Upon arrival, responding officers found seven victims, one who was subsequently pronounced dead. Six other victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

NEW: DHS confirms to
FoxNews that Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is being investigated for allegations that he hired a Brazilian national as a nanny who doesn’t have work authorization in the U.S., Bill Melugin reports.

USCIS has been gathering details, which are now being referred to DHS for criminal investigation.

“Federal law prohibits employers from knowingly hiring aliens who are not authorized to work in the United States. No employer, including a member of Congress, is above the law,” DHS says.

Please, praying for the Douglas County Sheriff's deputy who was shot in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

Nebraska: The Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. confirms one deputy was injured from a gunshot responding to a disturbance call in Northwest Omaha.

DCSO says at 11:49 a.m Sunday, the department received a call regarding a disturbance between the caller and an individual whom the caller had a domestic relationship with.

The department says the individual broke into the caller's apartment at 10372 Weber Court, and remained on scene until the first deputy arrived at 11:58 a.m.

DCSO says the suspect shot at and struck the deputy almost immediately.

After calling for help, multiple DCSO deputies and OPD officers responded. The injured deputy was taken to a local emergency room where he is stable and undergoing surgery.

EXCLUSIVE: Cell phone video has surfaced of a deadly officer involved shooting from April 3rd in south Los Angeles.

According to police, the man was armed with a gun and had allegedly just shot another person at a nearby gas station before being encountered by police.

Authorities did confirm an unregistered ghost gun was recovered at the scene.

The response to CourtWatch.us has been overwhelming — thank you!!

To be transparent: it's just me building this. I work a full-time job and launched yesterday purely to see if anyone cared. Clearly you do.

Important context: this data is solely based on pretrial release cases. Judges handle hundreds of cases a year — what you're seeing is a small fraction of their total caseload. This does not mean there is 100% corruption. But when you look at the data, it may signify that change is needed to keep our communities safe. I'm working on adding more info pertaining to details about defendants etc but it will take some time and the website will evolve over time.

I'll be adding data weekly and sending newsletter updates every Tuesday that you can be a part of. I won't be able to respond to every comment — there are simply too many — but I read as many as I can.

This is public information that should be easy to find. I'm just making it easier to find.

There will be hurdles. Please bear with me. I'm not going anywhere.

Arizona: Small plane makes an emergency landing on 7th  Street at Missouri. Phoenix Police⁩ confirms no injuries reported but traffic is restricted in the area.

Praying for the Florida State Trooper who was seriously injured in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

A trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol was seriously injured after being struck by debris when a sedan collided with his patrol car in Collier County.
According to a press release from FHP, the trooper was standing outside his vehicle on I-75, helping a disabled motorist on mile marker 64 early Sunday morning.
The release says another vehicle, a Toyota Sedan driven by Jonathan Ronald Munas, 32, from Sarasota, was traveling north on I-75 on the outside travel lane, approaching the trooper and his car.
FHP says that the front right of the sedan collided with the front side of the trooper's vehicle. The force of the impact separated the front left tire and bumper of the patrol car.
Debris hit the trooper, giving him serious injuries, FHP says. He was transported to an area hospital.
Munas was arrested on DUI charges after FHP says he had a blood alcohol content of .159. He was transported to the Collier County Jail.
