The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Missouri is mourning the loss of veteran Police Officer Gregory Triplett, who died after suffering a medical emergency during a training exercise.

Officer Triplett, 58, served the City of St. Louis for nearly 32 years. According to department officials, he fought for his life following the incident but ultimately passed away.

The department described Triplett as a dedicated public servant who committed decades of his life to protecting the community. His loss leaves a deep impact across the department and the city he served.

SLMPD officials are asking the community to keep Officer Triplett’s family, friends, and fellow officers in their thoughts during this difficult time.

Missouri: A deputy with the Bates County Sheriff’s Office was injured in a crash Wednesday evening on Interstate 49.

At 6:15 p.m., the deputy was dispatched to a reported accident involving a pregnant female south of Butler. While traveling southbound on I-49, the patrol vehicle encountered standing water and began to hydroplane, according to the sheriff’s office.

The deputy’s vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer at approximately 70-75 mph, the sheriff’s office said.
