"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."

The reason Democrats started what is now the longest shutdown in DHS history is because they were demanding dramatic reforms to the way ICE operates.
They now get zero of those reforms after negotiations fell apart in the Senate. None.
Dems are claiming victory because Republicans are now agreeing to a DHS funding bill with zero dollars for ICE & CBP and Dems can message to their base that they held the line and didnβt fund Trumpβs mass deportation agenda.
But ICE & CBP are already pre-funded (not entirely) by the One Big Beautiful Bill, immigration enforcement operations have continued without issue, and Republicans plan to give ICE & CBP even more money in a second reconciliation bill, which will require no Democratic votes in the Senate.
So what did this DHS shutdown accomplish, other than hurt a lot of people & create chaos at airports?

Heat is going to be heading back to Southern California over the weekend. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will remain below average with cool and breezy conditions.
Northern California will dry out Thursday, following a couple of days of wet weather that the region sorely needed. Meteorologist Ophelia Young said lingering showers will move through the San Joaquin Valley, but the area should be dry by 9 a.m. Afterward, the day should be sunny. Thursday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 67 degrees. The average for this time of year is 69 degrees.

Thank you to all of our Great Congressional Republicans, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Senate Leader John Thune, for their work this week. Republicans are UNIFIED, and moving forward on a plan that will reload funding for our FANTASTIC Border Patrol and Immigration Enforcement Officers. Because the Democrats are fully and 100% committed to the Radical Left Policy of Open Borders and Zero Immigration Enforcement (which will hopefully cost them dearly in the Midterms!), allowing Murderers and Criminals of all types into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted, I will soon sign an order to pay ALL of the incredible employees at the Department of Homeland Security. Their families have suffered far too long at the hands of the Extreme Liberal βLeaders,β Cryinβ Chuck Schumer and Hakeem βHigh Taxβ Jeffries. Nevertheless, help is on the way for our Brave and Patriotic Public Servants who have continued to work hard, and do their part to protect and defend our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
