Officers were alerted to a recording of criminal acts being committed in the Historic Core and Skid Row area of DTLA.  Officers were able to locate the suspects involved in the Skid Row area and they were apprehended.

In memoriam: On this day in 2013, Alaska State Trooper Tage Toll and AST Pilot Mel Nading were performing a search and rescue of an injured snowmachiner in a remote area just east of Talkeetna. After locating the snowmachiner, they were headed back to Talkeetna when Helo-1 crashed. Trooper Toll, Pilot Nading and the snowmachiner all perished.

Happening Now: The Detroit Police are incredibly busy in Downtown Detroit this evening.

Large crowds of youth are creating issues in numerous locations in the downtown. Multiple youth have been detained. A large fight broke out at Campus Martius a few minutes ago.

A large crown of youth entered the Hilton Garden Inn at Gratiot & Brush, they were forced out by DPD Officers.

Today, we stood alongside our brothers and sisters in law enforcement to honor a fallen Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Levi Vargas.

Deputy Vargas tragically passed away after suffering a medical emergency while participating in the 2026 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay over the weekend.

As the procession moved through the valley, officers from across Southern Nevada paid their respects—standing united in remembrance, service, and sacrifice.

Deputy Vargas, 30, served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department since 2015. He began his career as a Custody Assistant before graduating from Academy Class 413 and serving in multiple assignments, most recently at San Dimas Station.

He was known among his colleagues and friends for his professionalism, commitment, and compassion for the communities he served.

Deputy Vargas is survived by his wife, parents, siblings, and extended family.
