NEW: The Bastrop Texas Police Department has just shared information about an active shooter call that officers responded to this afternoon in the parking lot of Home Depot.

The police chief says Kobe Lee Mosser, 25, of Bastrop, drove into the parking lot and began firing an AR-15-style rifle indiscriminately. At one point, police say Mosser exited his vehicle and continued firing, Rusty Surette reports.

"The full extent of property damage and the number of affected victims- including reports involving families with children- remains under investigation," said the chief. 

CBS Austin reports no injuries.

The first officer to arrive on scene immediately engaged the suspect and successfully took him into custody without further incident.

Police say this is an active investigation and no additional information will be shared at this time.

In recent days, we have again seen the deadly consequences of the Democrats’ open borders and illegal alien first agenda.

A beautiful 18-year-old student named Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed in Chicago last week while she was walking in a park with friends.

The suspect in custody for her murder is a Venezuelan criminal illegal alien who was caught and released at the border by the Biden administration in May 2023.

According to DHS, this monster was released again from local custody after a shoplifting arrest in the sanctuary city of Chicago in June 2023.

Another innocent American citizen had her life stolen from her because Democrats embrace reckless sanctuary city policies and open borders.

How many more Americans have to die before Democrats end this madness?

PROTECT OUR KIDS: REFORM PROP 57

Sheriff Jim Cooper has created a new ballot initiative to address a serious gap in California law. Proposition 57 was sold to voters as a measure focused on non-violent offenders, but court rulings and its current application have expanded eligibility far beyond that. Today, even individuals convicted of sexually violent offenses can be considered for early release.

That decision is no longer made in a courtroom, but rather by the Board of Parole Hearings.

Protect Our Kids: Reform Prop 57 will give voters the opportunity to correct that and ensure sexually violent predators are excluded from early release consideration.

This is not complicated. It comes down to a choice: protect our kids, or side with the predators.

They state, a 23-year-old woman stabbed another woman at the scene and also injured a responding officer. The civilian victim was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital as a trauma alert with potentially life-threatening injuries.
