WATCH LIVE: Karoline Leavitt holds briefing as more troops head to the Middle East
PressSec: "I'm pleased to announce that POTUS' long-awaited meeting with President Xi in China will now take place in Beijing on May 14th and 15th. FLOTUS and POTUS will also host President Xi and Madame Peng for a reciprocal visit in Washington, D.C. at a later date, to be announced this year."
PressSec says POTUS' crippling of the Iranian regime during Operation Epic Fury has brought them to the table:
"The remaining elements of the Iranian regime have another opportunity to cooperate with President Trump... There does not need to be any more death and destruction, but if Iran fails to accept the reality of the current moment... POTUS will ensure they are hit harder than they have ever been hit before."
PressSec on day 40 of the Democrat shutdown of DHS:
"A father of 3 recently told CBS News that he felt he had no other choice but to quit his job as a TSA officer and find other work as the Democrats' shutdown of DHS continues."
Nearly 500 others have done the same.
PressSec on the murder of 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman in Chicago: "The suspect in custody for murdering her is a Venezuelan illegal alien who was caught and released at the border by the Biden Admin... How many more Americans have to die before the Democrats end this madness?"
PressSec on Iran talks: "They are productive, as POTUS said on Monday, and they continue to be...I would caution reporters in this room from reporting about speculative points or speculative plans from anonymous sources...Some of the stories I read were not entirely factual."
PressSec: "He's talking to the ICE agents who are handing out water bottles and are helping people move through lines at airports? It's a disgraceful comment."
PressSec lays out the steps the Trump Administration has taken to stabilize fuel prices:
"Just today, Lee Zeldin...announced a temporary emergency fuel waiver to allow nationwide sales of E15...to remove all federal impediments to selling E10 gasoline across the country."
PressSec: "It's the Democrats who have led to this stalemate over the past six weeks. The president and the Republicans' position has been very clear: FUND the Department of Homeland Security."
PressSec: "The VP has always been the President's right-hand man and a key member of the President's national security team... The VP has been by the President's side every step of the way, and any reporting otherwise is just completely false."
PressSec: "What Rep.Raskin did here... he took untrue and salacious claims in a memo that was produced by Jack Smith... it never even made it into the indictment because it was so unverified. And what happened to that indictment anyway? It was thrown out!"

BREAKING: New ballot initiative targets sexual predators.
The Sacramento County Sheriff announced Wednesday a new ballot initiative intended to prevent sexual predators from having their prison time cut short. Jim Cooper's initiative comes amid increased calls to change California's elderly parole program, which allows some violent criminalsβincluding child rapists and murderers serving life sentencesβ to be released early. This program was established after the U.S. Supreme Court put California on notice in 2011 for its overcrowded prisons. Recently, serial child rapist David Allen Funston was released under this program, but Placer County officials immediately took him back into custody to face child molestation charges from 1996.

An arrest with a side of customer service.
This afternoon, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Devonshire Drive for a car traveling with suspended registration. During the stop, the driver, a 25-year-old male from Nashville, was found to have an outstanding warrant from Nashville authorities for failure to be booked.
The driver was also in the middle of delivering a food order and had food in the vehicle headed to a nearby home. After safely taking him into custody, our officer made sure the order still made it to the waiting family.
Warrant served and lunch delivered. Just another way weβre committed to taking care of our community.
