BREAKING: Acting TSA Administrator Ms. Ha Nguyen McNeill testifies before Congress that TSA is currently suffering the longest wait times in agency history, with callout rates hitting 40-50% at some airports and more than 480 employees quitting since the shutdown began. McNeil testifies that TSA has been shut down for half of fiscal year 2026, and $1 billion in TSA paychecks will be missed if the shutdown isn't ended by Friday, Bill Melugin reports.

She testified that to make ends meet, TSA officers have been selling blood and plasma and sleeping in their cars. Some have received eviction notices, missed bill payments and accrued late fees, damaged their credit, and have defaulted on loans, but are “still expected to perform at the highest level”.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Sunia, a retired Oxnard Police Department Sergeant and dedicated Ventura County District Attorney Investigator. John passed away on March 19, 2026, surrounded by loving family and friends.

He faithfully served the Oxnard Police Department from 2003 to 2023, working as a narcotics detective, violent crimes investigator, and major crimes detective before retiring as a patrol sergeant. In 2023, he joined the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, where he was assigned to the Fentanyl Overdose Crimes Unit, contributing to efforts to reduce overdose deaths in the county.

Raised in Oxnard, John graduated from Channel Islands High School, where he excelled in baseball and football. His teamwork, discipline, and strong character defined his distinguished law enforcement career. He was widely respected for his warm personality and exceptional investigative skills.

Iran has received an American plan to pause the war in the Middle East, officials said Wednesday — a proposal sent even as Washington deploys paratroopers and more Marines to the region.

Tehran publicly dismissed the diplomatic effort while launching more attacks on Israel and Gulf Arab countries, including an assault that sparked a huge fire at Kuwait International Airport. Iran also continued to come under attack.

NEW: Sacramento CA sheriff to announce measure targeting predators.

The Sacramento County Sheriff is set to announce Wednesday a new ballot initiative intended to prevent sexual predators from having their prison time cut short. Jim Cooper's initiative comes amid increased calls to change California's elderly parole program, which allows some violent criminals—including child rapists and murderers serving life sentences— to be released early. This program was established after the U.S. Supreme Court put California on notice in 2011 for its overcrowded prisons. Recently, serial child rapist David Allen Funston was released under this program, but Placer County officials immediately took him back into custody to face child molestation charges from 1996.
