NEW: A crash involving about 40 vehicles caused Interstate 81 south to be closed Tuesday afternoon in the town of Richland, the New York State Police said.

Troopers and Oswego County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash, state police said, which happened on I-81 south between Exit 126 (Pulaski) and Exit 131 (Tinker Tavern). The crash involved about 40 vehicles, including multiple tractor-trailers, minor injuries reported.

State police said I-81 south was closed at the Pulaski exit so emergency vehicles can respond to the crash.

And what we need to focus on is how we stop terrorist attacks like we did. This FBI stopped four attacks in this past December alone. So there’s lots of crime, unfortunately, out there, and this FBI is after it. But last week’s tremendous tragedy, where a member of our military was killed in Norfolk by an individual who had been investigated for terrorism, is a stark reminder of what we must do. That individual was convicted and sentenced for terrorism before, and no one bothered to neutralize them and remove them from the country.”
