The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East. We are in communication with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners and will continue to assess any potential impacts to Los Angeles County.

At this time, there are no known credible threats to our community. However, out of an abundance of caution, and in recognition of current religious observances, the Department has increased patrols around places of worship, cultural institutions, and other prominent locations throughout the County.

We have proactively reviewed our deployment plans, enhanced coordination with our patrol stations, and ensured that additional resources are available should they be needed. These measures are precautionary and part of our ongoing commitment to preparedness and community safety.

The Department respects every individual’s right to exercise their First Amendment rights. We ask that anyone choosing to demonstrate to do so peacefully and lawfully, with respect for the safety of others and our shared community spaces.

We stand with all members of our diverse community and remain committed to protecting every resident’s right to safely gather, worship, and express themselves.

We encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement. As always, remember, if you see something, say something.

Trooper Kara Kelly-Borgognone succumbed to injuries sustained in a vehicle crash at the intersection of Pyramid Way and Highland Ranch Parkway, near Sparks, four days earlier.

She was responding to a call involving a possible bomb at a local gas station in Spanish Springs. Her patrol car collided with another vehicle during the response. She was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center where she remained in grave condition in order to donate her organs.

Trooper Kelly-Borgognone had served with the Nevada Highway Patrol for two years and had previously served with the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation for eight years. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, parents, and three siblings.

During her time with the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation, she was the first parole officer to be awarded the Medal of Valor.

Ohio: Two Parma firefighters were injured Friday night after a large fire burned through the Woodbury Apartments in Parma, according to the Parma Fire Department.

Parma Fire said the fire started in the attic area around 9:30 p.m. and there was a partial roof collapse.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, and the other firefighter was treated on the scene. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻
