Warning graphic!

Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division and California Department of Justice are investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting that occurred in Harbor Division.

On December 31, 2025, at around 9:40 p.m., Harbor Patrol Division uniformed police officers responded to a radio call for an unknown trouble, possible restraining order violation, at an apartment in the 500 block of West 37th Street. The residence was identified as a special location with Communications Division. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who advised the officers that the suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Lawrence Gonzales, was inside her apartment.

The officers contacted Gonzales inside the apartment, and he refused to comply with the officers’ command to turn around and place his hands behind his back. The officers approached Gonzales who physically resisted their efforts to detain him. The physical resistance escalated into a violent confrontation where Gonzales attempted to disarm the officers resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting.

Both officers received bruises, cuts and scrapes from this incident and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Additionally, The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Gonzales to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

No community members were injured during this incident.

Notifications to Gonzales’ next of kin were conducted by representatives from LAPD’s Family Liaison Section.

Portland police responded to a call of a guy that has been in a tree beside a local business and the business thought the guy may possibly try to climb on top of the building. After arriving on scene, police talked him down from the tree and told the guy he is not in trouble. Minutes later EMS arrived and took him to the hospital. The guy said he had just smoked some crystal and believed it to be a bad batch. Kudos to Portland Police for being very professional and talking this guy down by deescalating the situation.

Spencer Pratt: "Los Angeles used to be a place no one wanted to leave β€” and the place the rest of the world was desperate to get to. Now, we’re losing residents faster than any city in America. That keeps me up at night. This is a city built on inspiration and possibility, powered by a deep, living, diverse culture. And yet today, instead of inspiring people, it’s making them anxious. A city known for producing dreamers is producing skeptics."

Meanwhile democrats are planning on raising the sales tax in Los Angeles county to pay for healthcare for illegals

β€œLA County Board of Supervisors approved the proposal to temporarily increase the sales tax in the county. So this is now going to be on the June primary ballot. So if voters approve the measure, it would raise the sales tax across LA County to 10.25%. Supervisors say that money would support health care services after federal and state cuts.”

The healthcare that was cut was to illegals. This is to subsidize the funding for illegal’s healthcare they lost
