The Sheriffβs Office says Deputy Domeno had just finished handling a traffic collision near a local school and was parked in the lot completing paperwork when a community member approached him while recording.
According to officials, the individual questioned why he was there and suggested his presence was βscaring families.β The department says the deputy remained calm and professional throughout the interaction.
The Sheriff shared the video and announced a letter of commendation will be placed in Deputy Domenoβs file, praising his composure and professionalism. Officials noted he has only been on solo patrol for a few months but handled the situation with restraint.

Thereβs only one reason that anyone would oppose the common sense election integrity efforts found in the SAVE Act: they want to cheat by allowing illegal aliens to vote.
With President Trump at the helm, weβre fighting to ensure this cheating doesnβt happen. Our elections must be secure, fair, and decided by American Citizens.

AUSTIN MAN rapes his niece in her sleep. Grandmother catches him fleeing the room naked, DNA evidence is collected, Child Abuse Unit handles the case -- and prosecutors drop both felony charges and let him plead to a misdemeanor.
Christian Funez, 35, is an illegal immigrant from Honduras.
He was charged with two counts of sexual assault, a second-degree felony carrying 2-20 years in prison each.
The victim told deputies she went to sleep and woke up to Funez on top of her. She hit on the wall to alert family but no one heard. Her grandmother eventually opened the door and saw Funez running out covering himself with his boxers. Physical evidence was recovered during a penile swab.
After indictment, Funez skipped town. A warrant was issued in July 2022. He was a fugitive for nearly two years before being caught in May 2024, and gave police a fake name.
Then came the plea deal.
Prosecutors dropped both felony sexual assault charges and reindicted the case as indecent assault -- a misdemeanor. Sentence: 364 days in county jail.
The false ID charge was dismissed too.
A child was raped in her own bed by a an illegal immigrant. There was physical evidence, an eyewitness. The suspect fled and hid for two years.
And Travis County prosecutors treated it like he got caught shoplifting at Target.

Gwinnett County Police Department wants to sincerely thank our community and fellow law enforcement for the overwhelming support you have shown during this incredibly difficult time.
The loss of Police Officer Senior Pradeep Tamang #2741 has deeply impacted every member of our department. He was more than a badge. He was our brother, our teammate, and our friend. The prayers, messages, and the countless acts of kindness have meant more to his family and to our officers than we can fully express.
We are also deeply grateful for the continued prayers and encouragement for Master Police Officer David Reed #1802 as he recovers from his injuries. Your support has lifted him and reminded all of us that we do not stand alone.
In moments like this, the strength of our community shines through. Gwinnett County has wrapped its arms around us, and we feel it every single day.
Thank you for honoring Officer Tamangβs life, for standing behind MPO Reed, and for supporting the men and women who continue to serve. We are proud to serve this community, and we are grateful to serve alongside you.
