The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department family honors and remembers Deputy Brandan Garrett Hinkle.

Deputy Hinkle, a 11-year veteran was killed on February 14, 2001, after his police motorcycle was struck head-on by another vehicle while he was on routine patrol.

Deputy Hinkle was training to be a motor officer and was only days from completing the training program riding behind his training officer when the accident occurred. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Although you are gone, you will never be forgotten.💙

An individual was killed, and a police officer was injured during a shooting in Collins on Friday.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation reports that the incident occurred on Friday near Pine Avenue when officers with the Collins Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a disturbance involving a subject with a weapon. Upon arrival, police report that the subject approached officers with a weapon. Officers then discharged their weapons, striking the subject.

One officer received minor injuries, and the unidentified subject received fatal injuries, per the report.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station honors and remembers Deputy Pedro “Pete” Romo, a 25-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputy Romo passed away on February 14, 2021, following an illness. He is survived by his wife and three children.

His commitment to serving our community and his fellow deputies will not be forgotten.💙

The Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Domeno had just finished handling a traffic collision near a local school and was parked in the lot completing paperwork when a community member approached him while recording.

According to officials, the individual questioned why he was there and suggested his presence was “scaring families.” The department says the deputy remained calm and professional throughout the interaction.

The Sheriff shared the video and announced a letter of commendation will be placed in Deputy Domeno’s file, praising his composure and professionalism. Officials noted he has only been on solo patrol for a few months but handled the situation with restraint.
