BUSTED: Nashville police tracked down a statutory rape suspect hiding inside a trash can thanks to one powerful thermal camera.

South Carolina: An Andrews police officer was treated at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital Tuesday after suffering minor injuries during a foot chase with an alleged trespasser.

According to Andrews Police Chief Chris Cockrell, his office was notified about a trespasser at Food Lion. He said the suspect, Dylan Freeman – who has shoplifted from that store several times – was in the parking lot.

“Once officers arrived on scene the subject ran on foot into the woods behind McDonalds into a 6-foot ditch where he was apprehend,” Cockrell stated. “He was charged with resisting arrest and his two warrants for shoplifting were served on him as well.”

Patrol Officer H. LeDay, who chased Freeman, jumped in the ditch to make the arrest. He was taken to the hospital in an abundance of caution for his injuries sustained during the foot chase. He was treated for lacerations and was released from the hospital in good condition, Cockrell said.

South Carolina: Just after 9 p.m. on February 10, deputies responded to a shots-fired call in the 2900 block of Edenborough Road on Johns Island. Deputies spoke with the caller and searched the area, but did not locate the suspect at that time.

Just before 3 a.m. on February 11, deputies received a report that the individual had returned to the area. While in route, deputies spotted the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Maybank Highway and River Road. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended near Edenborough Road and Caroline Lane on Johns Island. The male suspect fled on foot, and deputies gave chase. During the encounter, the suspect fired at deputies, striking a Charleston County deputy in the chest. The deputy’s body armor stopped the bullet. Deputies returned fire, fatally striking the suspect.

The injured deputy received medical attention at the scene and was released.

WATCH: A wild police chase across San Diego Tuesday morning caused major traffic backups and left several vehicles damaged— including a patrol car—after a woman allegedly stole a trailer and led officers on a dangerous pursuit.

According to San Diego Police, the incident began around 7:30 a.m. when a woman reportedly hitched a trailer to the back of her Toyota 4Runner and drove off from a business on Balboa Avenue near Convoy Street.

Police say the chase finally came to an end when the woman’s SUV became disabled. She got out and ran, but officers deployed a Taser, bringing her to the ground. According to authorities, she continued resisting — forcing officers to restrain her hands and legs and place a spit mask over her face. She was then placed in a patrol car and taken from the scene.

Prayers for the Montgomery County Constable’s Deputy who was seriously injured in the line of duty yesterday afternoon.🙏🏻

Texas: A deputy with the Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 1 was severely injured Tuesday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash in Walker County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. on FM 2296 at Pineridge Lane. DPS officials said northbound traffic had stopped due to construction when the deputy’s vehicle struck another vehicle from behind, triggering a chain-reaction crash involving four vehicles.

The New Waverly Fire Department reported the deputy was initially trapped inside her patrol vehicle but was quickly extricated and stabilized. She was then airlifted to a Houston hospital for treatment. DPS later reported the deputy was in stable condition.
