Clarification on my relationship with ICE apparently is needed after an interview on KTAR radio last Wednesday.
During that interview, I was asked a very straightforward question about if ICE broke the law what would I do about it. I gave a very short & straightforward answer that apparently I should have expanded further on for some people.

Law enforcement officers are often recognized with official commendations throughout the year, symbolized by the ribbons worn on their uniforms. Those honors matter.

But messages like this matter just as much.

A handwritten note of gratitude is a reminder of why officers serve and who they serve. Recognition does not always come in the form of a ribbon. Sometimes it comes directly from the community, and that carries lasting weight.

Support does not have to be loud to be meaningful. Moments like this are proof that service is seen, valued, and remembered.

JUST IN: Two Killed at Stockton Flea Market

According to sources the two killed may have been the suspects who were attempting to rob the jewelry store. It is unclear if the security guard killed the robbers. "Today, I had an opportunity to speak with an officer from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). Our conversation began with the recent church takeover incident in St. Paul and naturally shifted to the events involving Jake Lang that occurred yesterday (January 17, 2026).

According to the officer, MPD personnel on scene were prepared and willing to intervene and provide assistance to Jake Lang and others who were being violently attacked by a large group of protesters. However, officers received a direct stand-down order, preventing them from taking action to protect those under assault. This directive explains the footage showing MPD vehicles departing the area while individuals were being viciously attacked.

The officer emphasized that MPD brothers and sisters did not join the force to stand by in such situations—they signed up to protect and serve the community. Morale within the department is currently very low and continues to decline as a result of these types of experiences and orders.

I wanted to share this firsthand account, as it highlights serious concerns about officer safety, public safety, and leadership decisions during volatile events."
