Earlier this week, Chief May attended a swearing-in ceremony for a very personal reason. His son, Connor May, was officially sworn in as a police officer with the Broomfield Police Department.

Connor is beginning his law enforcement career with Broomfield PD, joining the profession his father has dedicated his life to. While they serve different agencies, they share the same commitment to public service and protecting their communities.

Congratulations to Officer Connor May on this milestone, and best of luck as he starts his career in law enforcement.

BREAKING: 2 Army battalions put on standby for possible deployment to Minnesota
Two battalions from the 11th Airborne Division have been put on alert for a potential deployment to Minnesota, according to two defense officials.

One official said the president has not made a final decision whether to deploy the battalions. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"We are taking prudent steps to prepare active-duty Army forces," the official said. "This doesn't mean they will deploy; we are preparing options."

President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to send in the U.S. military as tensions intensified in Minneapolis following a second shooting involving a federal officer during immigration operations. However, Trump later told reporters he didn't think there was "any reason right now to use it."

UPDATE -Officer Involved Shooting

The Baker County Sheriff’s Office would like to provide an update regarding the deputy involved in the officer-involved shooting.
The deputy has been released from the hospital and is now home with his family. Sheriff Scotty Rhoden is thankful that the deputy’s injuries were not serious and is grateful for the outpouring of support and prayers.
Please continue to keep the deputy and his family in your prayers as he recovers. We also ask the community to keep the other family involved in this incident in your thoughts and prayers as well.
