Record rainfall claimed two more lives in southeastern Spain as it caused widespread flooding. The overall death toll rose to six from the storms, authorities said. An estimated 3,500 people are missing, according to BBC News. Emergency rescue workers saved thousands of people during the storm that slammed into the Mediterranean coastal regions of Valencia, Murcia and eastern Andalusia this week. Exclusive: Russia carried out a 'stunning' breach of FBI communications system, escalating the spy game on U.S. soil. American officials discovered that the Russians had dramatically improved their ability to decrypt certain types of secure communications and had successfully tracked devices used by elite FBI surveillance teams. Officials also feared that the Russians may have devised other ways to monitor U.S. intelligence communications, including hacking into computers not connected to the internet. Senior FBI and CIA officials briefed congressional leaders on these issues as part of a wide-ranging examination on Capitol Hill of U.S. counterintelligence vulnerabilities.

FBI agents raided the luxury lakeside home of mysterious payroll company boss Michael Mann late on Monday following the collapse of his company which cost tens of thousands of people their paychecks. Half a dozen law enforcement vehicles descended on the house in the tiny town of Edinburg, New York, around 4.30 pm. The agents stayed for about an hour. Camera flashes could be seen coming from the second story of a massive, half-completed extension to the house which is inside Adirondack Park. But it is not believed that any arrests were made and it is unclear what investigators removed from the home. The FBI's Albany office, which is leading the investigation, did not immediately return calls. Mann, 49, is the elusive president of ValueWise, the parent company of MyPayrollHR, which closed its doors on September 5, leaving people all over the country without their bi-monthly paychecks.

The Saudis and the US are convinced they were the handiwork of Iran, refusing to believe the claims that Yemen's insurgent Houthi rebels โ€“ currently fighting a brutal civil war against a Yemeni government backed by a Saudi-led military coalition โ€“ have the equipment and the skill to mount such sophisticated attacks. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was straight out of the box, saying Iran must be 'held accountable for its aggression'. President Donald Trump has said America was 'locked and loaded', though he would be guided by the Saudis as to how he would respond. Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard, meanwhile, has announced it is prepared for a 'full-scale war'. Its commander, Brigadier-General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, warned that the region is 'like a powder keg', saying: 'It is possible a conflict will happen because of a misunderstanding.'
President Donald Trump took his fury over a botched New York Times story that accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of a new allegation of sexual misconduct to a New Mexico campaign rally, where he demanded resignations from everyone who worked on the piece. Trump on Monday was on his first trip back to the Democratic-leaning state since losing New Mexico in the 2016 presidential election and used the rally to spew venom at the Times for its handling of the story. 'I call for the resignation of everybody at The New York Times involved in the Kavanaugh smear story,' he told the crowd in Rio Rancho. 'And while you're at it, the Russian witch hunt hoax, which is just as phony a story,' said the president, in a reference to investigations into whether Trump was involved in Russia's meddling in the presidential contest that he won. #MAGA
