Florida: An officer in Davie was injured Monday after being hit by a car that was trying to flee a traffic stop, according to police.
Davie Police said officers responded to reports of a vehicle with a stolen license plate near Davie and Reese roads about midnight.
When officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated quickly in an attempt to flee, police said. The vehicle struck one of the officers, leading him to discharge his department-issued service weapon at the vehicle. No suspects were injured from the firearm discharge, police said.
The vehicle then fled.
Davie officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it near Hollywood Boulevard on Florida’s Turnpike with the help of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Police said officers took two people into custody immediately, and a third who fled was apprehended by a Davie K-9 unit a short time later with the assistance of the Hollywood Police Department.
The officer was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said a Dallas police squad car was involved in a collision with two other cars.

Prayers for the Oklahoma State Patrol Trooper who was seriously injured in the line of duty earlier today.🙏🏻
The driver that hit Trooper Blades has died. Troopr Blades was released from the hospital this evening. Our prayers are with the family of the driver as they go through this difficult time. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
At approximately 12:30 this afternoon, one of our troopers was sitting stationary with emergency lights activated on westbound I-40 at Choctaw Road blocking the outside lane for a disabled semi being loaded onto a wrecker. An F-250 truck hit the trooper’s patrol unit from behind, while the trooper was inside. The trooper was rushed to the hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. No one else was injured.g
