On November 18, 2025, St. Johns County Sheriff's Office deputies rushed to rescue a man who accidentally drove his vehicle into the pond at the Southeast Library Branch. Deputies broke the the window, pulling the man from the submerged vehicle. St. Johns County Fire Rescue treated the man for minor cuts and bruises.

BREAKING: Earlier today Governor Bob Ferguson signed a statewide emergency declaration in response to the intense flooding in Washington state this week.

Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation orders have been issued for communities in Skagit County, particularly in Lyman and Hamilton.

An alert from Skagit County notes that “historic flooding is occurring on the Skagit and Sauk Rivers.”

Anyone in the area is ordered to evacuate immediately and to not wait.

Officials warn that roads may be closed due to high water, and evacuees are urged to plan their route to get to high ground away from the river.

Please, pray for the Batesburg-Leesville Police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty earlier today.🙏🏻

South Carolina: Injuries were reported after a traffic stop led to an officer-involved shooting in Batesburg-Leesville on Wednesday.

Batesburg-Leesville Police Chief Daren Amick said officers tried pulling over a vehicle on West Church Street at around noon. Amick added that the vehicle was reportedly involved in “criminal activity at multiple businesses within Lexington County.”

During a traffic stop, the chief said the driver hit one officer and nearly struck another with their vehicle when trying to flee the scene. Amick added that’s when the other officer opened fire, hitting both suspects.

Amick said both suspects were taken to a hospital for treatment. The officer who was hit by the vehicle was also taken to a hospital.

Traffic to and from Devonshire Downs was nearly impassable, and parking was limited, leading thousands to park in residential neighborhoods.
