We are aware of some social media reports about an active shooter in Poway. SD Sheriff can confirm there is NO active shooter situation.

Earlier today, the Poway Sheriff's Station and Poway Fire Department conducted active shooter response training in the Scripps Poway Parkway Industrial Park near Scripps Poway Parkway and Stowe Drive.

This was simply a training exercise. There was no threat to the public.

Kentucky: Louisville Metro Police Department says an officer was injured in an early-morning crash in downtown Louisville, and the other driver involved is facing charges.

It happened just after 3 a.m. Friday at Second and Market streets, in front of the Kentucky International Convention Center.

According to police, the officer was responding to a burglary call with lights and sirens activated when his cruiser collided with another car.
Officers already on scene gave first aid to both victims until EMS arrived.

Police arrested 32-year-old Anthony Lewis following the crash. He is charged with third-degree DUI (aggravating circumstances), reckless driving, failure to maintain insurance, and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.

Several nearby streets were shut down so crews could get the officer and the other driver to the hospital quickly.
