Missouri: On November 25, 2025, an attempted escape from custody at the Howell County Courthouse resulted in the serious injury of a Howell County Deputy and multiple felony charges for two individuals.

At approximately 11:00 AM, Howell County Deputies were conducting routine inmate movement at the Howell County Courthouse on the square in West Plains. During this process, a white Kia van driven by a female later identified as Shyanna Kristen-Marie Anderson, 28, of Fernley NV, was parked near the Howell County Prisoner Transport van.

Inmate Zachary Joseph Castellanos, 22, of South Lake Tahoe, CA, who was secured in handcuffs and ankle shackles, was being escorted by Lieutenant Paul Bradshaw. Castellanos suddenly moved away from other inmates and fled toward the vehicle. Castellanos entered the van’s sliding door, and Lt. Bradshaw immediately engaged him in an attempt to stop the escape.

Anderson then rapidly backed out of the parking space and fled southbound on Aid Avenue with Lt. Bradshaw still partially inside the vehicle. While inside, Lt. Bradshaw issued repeated commands for Anderson to stop. Anderson eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Aid Avenue and John N. Wiles Drive. When Lt. Bradshaw exited and attempted to remove Castellanos from the van, Anderson accelerated again, throwing a Lt Bradshaw to the pavement. Lt. Bradshaw slid across the asphalt and was partially run over by the fleeing vehicle.

Lieutenant Bradshaw sustained serious physical injuries, including a lacerated finger, significant road rash, and a large contusion to the head. He was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for further medical treatment.

NEW: A crew of auto thieves pulled guns on three Chicago firefighters who confronted them as they broke into a fire department member’s car outside an Avondale firehouse on Thanksgiving morning, according to Chicago police.

The attempted theft unfolded shortly after 7:15 a.m. outside Engine 91’s station house in the 2800 block of North Pulaski Road. A police report said four men were breaking into a firefighter’s Dodge Charger when three members of the firehouse walked outside and approached the crew.

NEW: Los Angeles HSI Integrated Operations Group arrested Amadeo Lopez-Rojas, 28, of Mexico, Nov. 11. Lopez is charged for DUI, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, child cruelty, and vandalism. He is in custody pending criminal prosecution.

BREAKING: Hundreds of propane tanks are on fire in Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

"On November 20th, Austin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Buitron and his K9, “Knox,” stopped a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 in Austin County. During the stop, Deputy Buitron deployed ACSO K9 “Knox,” who alerted to the trailer portion of the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the trailer resulted in the seizure of approximately 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, which was discovered hidden within the legitimate load the driver was hauling. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.

Deputy Buitron is currently assigned to the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) as a Task Force Officer. Deputy Buitron and K9 “Knox” assist all agencies in Austin County and surrounding counties on a daily basis.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) covers five counties and is comprised of investigators from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration."

A sheriff’s deputy in Louisiana has been identified as the victim of a deadly Thanksgiving Day shooting.

According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Shaquille Guerin, 35, was shot and killed by his brother, Darius Guerin, 32, on Thursday night.

Authorities said the shooting occurred just after 5:30 p.m. on Marigold Lane.

Deputies arrived to find Shaquille Guerin lying in the street outside a home with at least one gunshot wound.

Shaquille Guerin had been with the St. John Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office for eight years. He was assigned to the uniform patrol division and also worked in the detective bureau.

“Shaquille did his job well. He had the heart of a public servant,” St. John Parish Sheriff Michael Tregre said. “He carried and showed positivity as an employee for the St. John Sheriff’s Office and teammate to his coworkers.”

Shaquille Guerin is survived by his wife and their three children.
