The Georgia prosecutor who took over the 2020 election interference case after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was disqualified said in a statement Wednesday he's dropping the charges against President Donald Trump and his co-defendants.
"In my professional opinion, the citizens of Georgia are not served by pursuing this case in full for another five to ten years," prosecutor Pete Skandalakis wrote, saying he was ending the case "to serve the interests of justice and promote judicial finality."

This Virginia Beach assistant principal and his brother plotted to ambush and kill ICE law enforcement officers.
Our officers risk their lives daily to make our communities safer, even while facing a 1000% increase in assault and an 8000% increase in threats of murder.

Thinking about deep-frying a turkey?
Every year, hot oil accidents spark fires that ruin holidays in seconds. A partially frozen bird or a small spill can turn into a major emergency fast. If youβre set on frying, take it outside, far from anything flammable, and stay with it the entire time.
Follow the instructions carefully and remember β smart prep equals a safer, happier Thanksgiving.

A Calling to Serve!
Officer Caylynn Punzalan Decastro recently graduated the Police Academy in November 2025. She was inspired to pursue a career in law enforcement after watching her father join the LVMPD in 2016. Seeing the pride he took in his work motivated her to follow a similar path. She chose to take the leap into joining LVMPD through what she believes was Godβs timing, trusting that every mental and physical challenge sheβs faced has prepared her for this moment. For as long as she can remember, she has felt that this career is part of Godβs purpose for her.
Throughout her life, Officer Punzalan Decastro has naturally gravitated toward roles rooted in community caretaking. She also trains in jiu-jitsu to strengthen her ability to defend herself and confidently navigate hands-on situations. As she prepares to enter field training, she feels a mix of excitement and nerves. She welcomes the challenge of new experiences and looks forward to learning from them and recognizing the growth that follows. She carries with her the belief that feeling nervous simply means you care.
What excites her most is the opportunity to learn more about the city of Las Vegas on a deeper level and to contribute to keeping both her community and her own family safe.
Congratulations, Officer Punzalan Decastro!
