Your FBI has more updates for you on our efforts to defend the homeland and protect the American people, this time from the threat posed by the North Korean government.

We’ve had MULTIPLE wins in the counterintelligence and cyber arenas, including FIVE guilty pleas and forfeiture complaints for MILLIONS in stolen funds.

-U.S. nationals Audricus Phagnasay, Jason Salazar, and Alexander Paul Travis each pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy. Between 2019 and 2022, they provided their U.S. identities to IT workers that they KNEW were located outside the United States so that these workers could fraudulently obtain employment with victim U.S. companies. In addition, they hosted company-provided laptops at their residences and installed remote access software on those laptops so that the foreign IT workers could create the false appearance that they were remote working from the defendants’ residences. For anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to sell out your identity for a few bucks, know that it is FRAUD and you will pay the price. Thank you to the FBI Atlanta Augusta Resident Agency for investigating this case.

-Ukrainian national Oleksandr Didenko pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy and aggravated identity theft in connection with a years-long scheme that stole the identities of U.S. citizens and sold them to Russian, Chinese, and North Korean IT workers so they could fraudulently gain employment at U.S. companies. These victim U.S. companies unassumingly paid the foreign IT clients HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars for their work, funneling that money strait into the hands of adversarial governments. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again β€” protecting American businesses is a top priority for your FBI, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure American-earned dollars stay out of the hands of our adversaries. Thank you to @FBINY, FBI Norfolk, FBI San Diego, and FBI Nashville Jefferson City Resident Agency for your dedicated work.

-U.S. national Erick Ntekereze Prince pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy. Through his company Taggcar Inc., Prince contracted to supply β€œcertified” IT workers to victim U.S. companies, knowing that the IT workers were located outside the United States and were using false and stolen identities to gain employment. Prince also hosted U.S. company-provided laptops at Florida residences and installed remote access software on those laptops so that the IT workers could create the false appearance that they were remote working from Prince’s residence. The fraudulent scheme earned MORE THAN $943,069 in salary payments from victim U.S. companies, the vast majority of which were sent to the IT workers overseas. The FBI does not tolerate anyone who uses fraudulent measures to earn a buck off of U.S. companies. Thank you to FBI Miami for your work in this case.

-TheJusticeDept filed civil complaints to forfeit USDT, a virtual currency stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar that is valued at over $15 million. The FBI seized USDT in March 2025 from North Korean APT38 actors, who committed multiple heists against various payment processors across the globe. Thank you to FBI Los Angeles for your hard work in this case.

-To our private sector partners, please improve your security process for vetting remote workers and remain vigilant regarding this emerging threat. If you suspect you’ve been targeted, contact your local FBI field office. Your FBI will continue to protect American citizens and businesses.

God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

BREAKING: The NTSB has released its preliminary findings in the crash of UPS flight 2976, an MD-11F aircraft with tail number N259UP, at Louisville's Muhammad Ali International Airport on November 4. The aircraft was departing from runway 17R at 17:14 Eastern time. The subsequent crash killed 3 onboard crew and 11 on the ground, and injured 23 people. The plane was bound for Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu, Hawaii..

PRELIMINARY FINDINGS:
– Mechanism VERY similar to American Flight 191, whose left engine separated on May 25, 1979 while departing O'Hare; 273 people were killed
– Airport surveillance video of the airplane showed the left (No. 1) engine and pylon separating from the wing shortly after airplane rotation
– A fire ignited on the left engine as it traversed above the fuselage and impacted the ground; a fire also ignited near the area of the left pylon attachment
– The airplane initially climbed but did not get higher than about 30 ft above ground level
– The airplane cleared the blast fence beyond the end of runway 17R, but the left main landing gear impacted the roof of a UPS Supply Chain Solutions warehouse at the southern edge of the airport
– The airplane then impacted a storage yard and two additional buildings, including a petroleum recycling facility, and was mostly consumed by fire
– A witness in the air traffic control tower reported that the takeoff speed appeared normal for that type of aircraft; however, the climb rate was not normal, as the airplane did not climb above the tower's height of approximately 200 feet
– Another witness reported that the airplane stopped climbing and began to lose altitude before rolling slightly to the left
– The left engine pylon aft mount's forward and aft lugs were both found fractured near their 2 o'clock (inboard fracture) and 9 o'clock (outboard fracture) positions when in the aft-looking-forward frame of reference
– The fractured and separated upper portions of the forward and aft lugs were found adjacent to runway 17R
– At the time of the accident, N259UP had accumulated a total time of about 92,992 hours and 21,043 cycles
– A 24-month/4,800 hour lubrication task of the pylon thrust links and pylon spherical bearings was last accomplished on October 18, 2025

WICHITA POLICE OFFICER INJURED DURING CHILD ABUSE INVESTIGATION; SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

WICHITA, Kan. β€” A Wichita police officer was seriously injured Thursday afternoon while attempting to take a suspect into custody during a child abuse investigation.
