Trooper Adam Ellis was among the four law enforcement officers who were shot after responding to a domestic violence call on Saturday. The Kansas State Troopers Association says Ellis "has a long road to recovery."

The trooper's medical bills will be covered, but the nonprofit is accepting donations for him and his family.

Ellis graduated from the KHP Training Academy five months ago today. At last update, he and two deputies remained hospitalized.

LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell is firing back after a federal judge upheld an injunction that bars officers from using force on members of the media during demonstrations.
