Texas: Two patrol vehicles were hit by suspected impaired drivers Saturday night, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
HCSO personnel were providing traffic control outside a large public event at FM-1960 East and Belleau Wood Drive in the Humble area when the two separate crashes occurred, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
A sergeant was in her vehicle when it was rear-ended by a driver who showed signs of intoxication, HCSO said. They added that the driver was arrested for DWI, and the sergeant was treated for minor injuries at an urgent care clinic and has been released.

Florida: A Martin County Sheriff's Deputy was injured while arresting a man accused of pulling an ax on him and a second deputy.
According to the MCSO, the incident happened on Monday in Stuart while marine deputies were responding to a call of a disabled sailboat on the Intracoastal. Deputies arrived and found the suspect, Robert Lane, inside his boat.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Lane had beached his boat in the mangroves and wanted the deputies to tow him.
As the second deputy was working to ensure their boat wouldn't drift off, Budensiek said a struggle between the deputy on Lane's boat and Lane followed.
"Meanwhile, our hands-on deputy on the boat is having a knockdown, drag-out fight with a mentally ill suspect. In this case, that took place, our deputy did get injured, got pushed down a hatch, pretty significant injury to his hand," Budensiek told WPBF.
The deputies were eventually able to take Lane into custody. He was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being booked into the Martin County Jail.
The injured deputy was also taken to the hospital, where he was treated for the injury to his hand.

NEW: The WSJ reports Ford is considering scrapping the electric version of the F-150 Lightning.
The Lightning fell far short of expectations as American truck buyers skipped the EV version of the top-selling truck. Its range was not as advertised and was even less when paired with towing.
Ford has racked up $13B in losses since 2023 on the Lightning alone.

Los Angeles Police Department officers from the Devonshire Division safely resolved a tense confrontation Saturday evening after a shirtless man in his 40s or 50s was reported waving a black semiautomatic handgun at passing motorists outside an apartment complex at 20812 Lassen Street, near the intersection with DeSoto Avenue.
Multiple 911 callers alerted police to the armed individual pointing the weapon at vehicles. Responding officers located the suspect on Lassen Street and ordered him to drop the firearm. When he failed to comply, an officer deployed a single 40mm less lethal round, striking the man in the chest.
The impact caused the suspect to drop the handgun and flee a short distance onto the sidewalk, where officers quickly took him into custody without further incident. The black pistol was recovered at the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded, evaluated the suspect for injuries, and transported him to a local hospital for further medical evaluation. No officers or bystanders were injured.
