Seven years ago today, a wildfire sparked in Butte County and quickly grew into the Camp Fire—the deadliest wildfire in California’s history.

Eighty-five lives were lost. More than 18,800 homes, schools, and businesses were destroyed, and entire neighborhoods were forever changed in a matter of hours.

Today, we pause to remember those who lost their lives, the families who carry their memories forward, and the communities that continue to rebuild with strength and resilience.

As we look back, we also look ahead with a shared responsibility to learn from the past and continue working to prevent such devastation from happening again.

Court records indicate the 22-year-old suspect who drove through a crowd of people in Ybor, killing four, received a citation for speeding in Hillsborough County less than two months ago.

A forensic analysis of a female former U.S. Capitol Police officers gait is a 94%-98% match to the unique stride of the long-sought Jan. 6 pipe-bomb suspect, according to a Blaze News investigation confirmed by several intelligence sources.

A software algorithm that analyzes walking parameters including flexion (knee bend), hip extension, speed, step length, cadence, and variance rated Shauni Rae Kerkhoff, 31, of Alexandria, Va., as a 94% match to the bomb suspect shown on video from Jan. 5, 2021. The veteran analyst who ran the analysis for Blaze News said that based on visual observations the program can struggle with, he personally pegged the match at closer to 98%.

Kerkhoff, who was a Capitol Police officer for four and a half years, left the department in mid-2021 for a security detail at the Central Intelligence Agency, sources told Blaze News.

Eagle-eyed NYPD Public Safety Team officers spotted a man with what appeared to be a gun in his waistband.

After a short pursuit, they safely took him into custody and recovered a loaded firearm.

HAMMER-WIELDING ATTACKER ASSAULTS LAW ENFORCEMENT — AND THE NEW YORK TIMES RUSHES TO HIS DEFENSE!

During a targeted immigration enforcement operation, a U.S. citizen exited his vehicle WIELDING A HAMMER and THREW ROCKS at law enforcement while he had a child in his car.

He was arrested for assault and during his arrest a pistol was found in his car, that is reported stolen out of the state of New York. The individual has an active warrant for property damage. We refuse to apologize for enforcing the law.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 5 illegal aliens from Mexico and Guatemala who were all breaking our nation’s immigration laws. Their criminal histories include DUI, driving without a license, and previously removal, which is a felony.

And America’s downfall will be solidified.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our very own, Sergeant Lamar Dyar. Sgt. Dyar faithfully served the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia for over 20 years. During his time with our agency, he served in many roles from Deputy Sheriff to working with a federal task force. He dedicated his career to protecting others, and he did it with integrity and heart.

Sgt. Dyar was a proud father to five beautiful daughters, whom he loved more than anything. He often spoke about them with a smile, and being their dad was his greatest honor.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire Fayette County Sheriff’s Office family during this difficult time.
