UPDATE: The suspect in the shooting of a Jacksonville police officer is in custody Wednesday night.

BOND SET AT $1.3 MILLION

Bobby Michael Dennis — the suspect accused of ambushing a Jacksonville police officer and K-9 with an AR-15 — faced a judge today.

Bond was set at $1.3 million total:
• $1,000,000 — Attempted Capital Murder of a Peace Officer
• $200,000 — Retaliation
• $100,000 — Interference with a Police Service Animal

Dennis was captured Wednesday night after a four-day search.

Jacksonville Police say the officer was shot twice while trying to reach cover — ONE shot hit her after she had already fallen.

South Carolina: A deputy in Berkeley County was attacked during a traffic stop and left injured as the suspect escaped. Officers continue to face this level of violence throughout the state.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating a man who allegedly assaulted one of its deputies during a traffic stop.

Deputies stopped Kofi Amartei Opoku Nkromah, 39, on Old Mill Road in the St. Stephen area just before 6 a.m. Thursday for failing to maintain his lane and for disregarding a stop sign, sheriff’s spokesperson Carli Carr said.

During the stop, Carr said, deputies determined Nkromah was attempting to lie about his identity. When they attempted to detain him, he assaulted a deputy and ran away.

Carr said Nkromah has outstanding warrants with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and is a known violent offender.

Anyone with information about Nkromah should call Berkeley County dispatch at 843-719-5065.

Today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization.

The vessel was trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean and was struck in international waters. No U.S. forces were harmed in the strike, and three male narco-terrorists — who were aboard the vessel — were killed.

Among the graduates, 11 have honorably served in the United States Military, and 31 have family members who currently serve or have previously served in law enforcement, reinforcing the strong commitment to public safety.
