Yesterday, we lost Lucas County Deputy Sheriff Danny Huntley after his courageous and unwavering battle with cancer. Danny was more than just a dedicated law enforcement officer, he was a friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His approachable nature made people feel at ease, his kindness touched countless lives, and his sense of humor could lift everyone's spirits even on the toughest days. Respected, loved, and appreciated by his peers, Danny led his life with humility and a genuine heart. May you rest in peace sir. We will miss you.
Itโs only fitting that Deputy Huntley (pictured on the far right) is honored alongside his friends and coworkers in this photo. His warm smile and the camaraderie he shared with those around him speak volumes about the kind of person he was.

๐บ๐ธ FBI ARRESTS PORTLAND ANTIFA MILITANT OVER ICE FACILITY ATTACK
Federal agents have arrested Alistair Macfarlane Sidener, 20, of Portland, on federal charges connected to an alleged June attack on the ICE facility in Portland.
Sidener was taken into custody by the FBI and indicted by a federal grand jury for willfully damaging U.S. government property - specifically, surveillance cameras at the ICE facility.
He faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted.
Despite prosecutors citing a pattern of violent conduct at Antifa-related demonstrations, Judge Youlee Yim You ordered Sidenerโs release pending trial.
The federal indictment remains sealed.
Sidener also faces state charges from the Multnomah County District Attorneyโs Office, including 1st-degree arson, reckless burning, and criminal mischief, over the same June incident, when Antifa militants allegedly attempted to set the ICE facility ablaze.
He has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Sidenerโs criminal history includes arrests and convictions related to Antifa actions earlier in 2025.
In January, he was arrested for vandalism and resisting arrest during the so-called โRose City Antifa Inaugurationโ protest and later pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal mischief in August, serving 1 day in jail.
Federal prosecutors say the case is part of a broader effort to hold violent actors accountable for attacks on federal property in Portland.

Austin, Texas: A small chocolate shop has been robbed so many times it stopped bothering with police.
This weekโs break-in at Kesshล Cacao โ their fifth โ cost more than $5,000 in stolen generators, tools, and truck batteries. The owners called 911. Dispatch told them to call 311. Then 311 told them to wait five business days for a detective.
Six thieves cut cables, tore locks, and cleaned out their warehouse like it was routine (because in Austin, it is). The owners, immigrants who built the shop from scratch, now sleep in fear of another visit from robbers.
Austinโs small business reality: work 80 hours a week, get robbed on repeat, and be told by 311 to take a number.

We would like to share an important update regarding K9 Arwin, a distinguished member of the HPD K9 Unit.
K9 Arwinโs career has been nothing short of extraordinary. Over six years of service, he played a vital role in apprehending countless suspects and uncovering critical evidence at numerous crime scenes. His contributions extended beyond the fieldโArwin was a dominant force at trials across the West Coast and was most recently honored as โTop Dogโ by the Western States Police Canine Association, a title that cements his legacy as one of the top K9s in the state.
On Monday, October 20th, during a routine training session, K9 Arwin sustained a significant injury. His partner, Officer Higgins, promptly transported him to a local veterinary hospital, where doctors diagnosed extensive ligament and tendon damage requiring surgery. Given the severity of the injury and K9 Arwinโs planned retirement in January of 2026, the very difficult decision was made to officially retire him on October 20th. The decision to immediately retire Arwin was not made lightly and was based on the following factors: he was weeks away from retirement, the severity of his injuries and the length of anticipated recovery would prevent him from working in the field prior to his scheduled retirement, the K9 Unit did not have funding in their operational budget for unanticipated significant medical expenses, and euthanizing him was the only other option presented. Funding does exist in two separate donation accounts, including one that belongs solely to the K9 Unit, which would have covered medical expenses. However, the K9 Unit members elected not to use that funding. To prevent him from being euthanized, Officer Higgins agreed to assume ownership of Arwin to cover his medical expenses.
Arwin underwent surgery yesterday to repair his injuries, and he has another scheduled for today. We sincerely hope he is home recovering with his family soon.
We extend our deepest thanks to K9 Arwin and Officer Higgins for their unwavering dedication and service to HPD and the community. K9 Arwinโs courage, loyalty, and excellence have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to work alongside him.
Thank you, K9 Arwin.
