At one point police say they found multiple guns on that 15-year-old and took his phone as evidence. They say they found various Google searches on it including “What is the charge for killing an officer?” “Is police murder a charge?” and “What is capital murder?”

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: At least two gunmen opened fire on the Division Street bar strip, leaving 4 people injured overnight in Chicago, Illinois.

Texas DPS Arrests Human Smuggler after High-Speed Pursuit in Webb County

10/14/25: A smuggler driving a white Ford pickup led TxDPS Troopers on a high-speed chase in Webb Co.

During the pursuit, the driver — Damian Cantu of Laredo, Texas — stopped to allow multiple illegal immigrants to bail out before continuing to evade Troopers. Cantu eventually abandoned the vehicle and tried to flee on foot but was quickly arrested.

Troopers apprehended eight illegal immigrants, who were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol. Cantu admitted to being paid $250 per person he smuggled and was charged with eight counts of smuggling of persons and evading arrest.

As part of Operation Lone Star, Texas DPS continues to disrupt criminal smuggling organizations and arrest human smugglers through a whole-of-Texas approach to combat human smuggling.
