An Iowa State Patrol officer was injured Friday night after someone crashed into a patrol vehicle during a chase.

Authorities say 24-year-old Cory Devries of Grundy Center led police on a vehicle pursuit from Grundy County into Black Hawk County.

The chase came to an end when the suspect hit the Iowa State Patrol car in the 1800 block of Highway 63.

The State Patrol officer was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.

DEVELOPING: This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.

Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
 
The armed woman was named in a @CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online ‘Hey to all my gang let’s fuck those mother fuckers up, don’t let them take anyone.’

Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.

Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.

This is an evolving situation and we will give more information as soon as it becomes available.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of an officer with the Chowchilla Police Department, who was involved in a fatal traffic collision while on duty.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire Chowchilla Police Department during this incredibly difficult time.🙏🏻

"It is with the deepest of sadness that the Chowchilla Police Department announces the loss of one of our own officers.  Late Friday evening, one of our officers was involved in an on-duty traffic collision. Despite the swift and courageous efforts of first responders, our officer succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash while on scene. 

The circumstances surrounding the collision are currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, in coordination with the Chowchilla Police Department. Additional details will be released as they become available.

We are holding the officer’s family and friends in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.  This officer was a dedicated and respected member of our department and had many years of dedicated law enforcement service.  We will not be releasing the officers name so that the family can have their time to grieve peacefully.

Our department is extremely grateful of the immediate support we received from the Madera County Sheriffs Office, Chowchilla Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol. 

Chief of Police Jeff Palmer stated, “moments of tragedy like this are devastating to our department and especially the family of this amazing officer.  It is going to take time for our department to heal from this tragic loss.”

POLICE OFFICER TERMINATED - IS THIS JUSTICE?

Priceville Police Department, Alabama Chief Jerry Holmes confirmed that Officer Garry Chapman, the officer involved in a police chase that ended in a deadly crash, is no longer employed with the department.

The Mayor said Chapman was first placed on administrative leave after the chase, which began on I-65 when officers attempted to stop a suspect for traffic violations and possible DUI. Chapman’s attorney, said his client was officially terminated, and the mayor upheld that decision. However, Chapman is appealing and will have a hearing on October 13, following the city council meeting, where the council will review his case. We do not know Alabama Law or the Department's Policies, however we do know and understand the concept of "Innocent Until Proven Guilty".
