Prayers for the Houston Police Officer who was shot in the line of duty yesterday afternoon.🙏🏻

Texas: A suspect is in custody after shooting at a METRO police officer and evading arrest on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

According to preliminary information, a METRO police officer tried to make a traffic stop near 1500 Wentworth around 4 p.m.

Police say the suspect displayed a weapon, fired a shot, and attempted to evade. An exchange of gunfire followed, and one officer sustained a grazing injury, investigators said.

METRO said the officer and the suspect were taken to the hospital. The officer is reportedly in stable condition, and the suspect is in custody.

Tucson, Arizona: A bear cub wandered into the Fry’s on Oracle and First this morning! Charlie Alolkoy caught a glimpse on video. Game and Fish has recently told us these creatures are coming down closer to us, looking for food and water.
OVPD says the bear left prior to arrival so they’re now working with Game and Fish, using a drone to search for it.

NEW: Two juveniles are in custody and one remains at large after a car theft led to a chase in northeastern Baltimore County, resulting in damaged cars and an injured officer.

The incident began with a 911 call reporting a stolen car from Attenborough Drive in the Nottingham area. An officer found the stolen vehicle and communicated its direction to other officers, who deployed stop sticks at Belair Road and Overton Avenue, which damaged the stolen car’s tires, causing it to crash into a parked vehicle before the three occupants ran off.

Police confirmed the apprehension of two occupants of the stolen car, ages 15 and 16, while a third assailant remains at large. During the chase, one officer suffered minor injuries after jumping a fence and losing his wedding ring.

Rancho Palos Verdes is dealing with more land movement, impacting several homes in the Bluffs neighborhood.

It is with deep sorrow, the City of Hays, Kansas, confirms the tragic loss of Hays Police Department Sgt. Scott Heimann.

Heimann was killed in the line of duty while responding to a barricaded subject incident.

Despite the immediate and courageous efforts of fellow officers and first responders, he succumbed to his injuries.

Heimann served Hays with honor, courage, and dedication since 2016. Moreover, he was a constant presence in the community and frequently went above and beyond as a positive role model to all that knew him.
