An investigation is underway into what appears to be some sort of explosive device found last night near the ICE Chicago detention facility.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division is investigating a Foothill Division Officer-Involved Shooting that occurred in Mission Division.

On August 14, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Mission Patrol Division uniformed officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon suspect armed with a firearm, in the area of Arleta Avenue and Branford Street. Multiple callers reported that the suspect, later identified as 48-year-old Lorenzo Sandoval, was walking along Arleta Avenue, pointing a gun at passing vehicles. Officers located Sandoval, walking south on the west sidewalk of Arleta Avenue, armed with a firearm in his right hand. The officers issued commands for Sandoval to drop the weapon, which he ignored and continued to walk away.

Officers notified Communications Division of their location and that Sandoval was armed, prompting the generation of a “Help Call.” Multiple units from bordering divisions responded and assisted in monitoring the armed suspect. Suddenly, Sandoval turned and faced the officers while armed, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting. Sandoval was struck by gunfire, fell to the ground, and was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and cleared for booking. Sandoval was booked for 69 Penal Code, Resisting an Executive Officer by Threats or Violence.

No officers or community members were injured during the incident. A replica handgun was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence.

We are aware of the incident at the church of Latter Day Saints on McCandlish Rd in Grand Blanc. According to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department, there is no active threat to the public at this time. Please avoid the area as first responders are handling this situation.

Nunes thinks James Comey should consider himself lucky that he wasn’t treated like Roger Stone and General Flynn. However, Comey might not be feeling so lucky here shortly if there are superseding indictments & Grand Conspiracy charges coming soon.

But I’d say most importantly, he will be lucky if there is not a grand conspiracy charge brought - which is really what should be brought against probably about two dozen characters in the United States over the last seven or eight years.”

I have been briefed on the horrendous shooting that took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The FBI was immediately on scene, and will be leading the Federal Investigation, and providing full support to State and Local Officials. The suspect is dead, but there is still a lot to learn. This appears to be yet another targeted attack on Christians in the United States of America. The Trump Administration will keep the Public posted, as we always do.
