Georgia: September 12, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Captain Brantley Worley of the McCaysville Police Department was critically injured in the line of duty while responding to a call for service. Captain Worley is a dedicated officer who has faithfully served this community, and we are asking everyone to keep him, his family, and our department in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
The suspect in this case has been identified as Timothy Craig Ramsey, a 26-year-old white male, 5’11”, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with long hair and blue eyes. Ramsey was last seen on foot in the area of 1st Street in McCaysville, Georgia, wearing a green top, dark-colored bottoms, and a dark motorcycle helmet. He is wanted on charges of Aggravated Assault with intent to murder a police officer.
This subject is considered armed and extremely dangerous. We strongly urge the public not to approach him. If you see Timothy Craig Ramsey or have any information about his whereabouts, please dial 911 immediately.
At this time, we have multiple agencies assisting us in this manhunt, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, and several surrounding local, state, and federal partners. We are grateful for their rapid response and continued support as we work together to bring this suspect into custody.
The safety of our community remains our top priority, and we will not rest until Timothy Ramsey is apprehended and justice is served.
