Engines, dozers, hand crews, helicopters, and airtankers are all working together to slow the fire, reinforce containment lines, and protect communities in the area. CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 6 is coordinating this large-scale response.

A Damage Assessment Team is in place and are actively inspecting structures. These assessments are ongoing, and verified updates will continue to be shared with the public.

Crews are making steady progress but are also being methodical in checking for hidden “holdover” fires—smoldering spots from lightning strikes that can sometimes take days to appear. Extinguishing these holdovers is key to maintaining long-term containment and community safety.

This remains a dynamic fire, with resources working around the clock until full containment is achieved. Residents in affected areas should stay alert, follow official instructions, and be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice.

Georgia: The Fulton County Board of Commissioners honored Fulton County Police Cpl. Zahir Muid on Wednesday for his heroic actions that saved the life of South Fulton Police Lt. Charles Cook during a shooting in April.

Muid was recognized for his quick response in applying tourniquets to Cook’s arm after both officers were shot on Fulton Industrial Boulevard. This action was crucial in preventing Cook from bleeding to death.

A terrifying scene unfolded at a Hollywood coffee shop Wednesday morning when a man grabbed a knife inside Bohemia Cafe on Sunset Boulevard and randomly attacked a customer, stabbing them multiple times.
