Idaho: And just like that, Idaho is once again seeing large fire growth after a cooling and wetting trend. The Ulm Creek Fire has quickly grown to 1,800 acres near Ulm Peak on the Idaho/Montana border.
The fire is burning on both the Idaho Panhandle and Kootenai National Forests with 62 personnel, helicopters, heavy equipment, and a Type 3 IMT in command.
Gem Peak Lookout on the Cabinet Ranger District has been closed as it falls inside the Forest closure area. A warming and drying trend is moving itβs way across the northern Rockies this week, and more fire growth is expected.
